Very refreshing Julie Yoo. Using AI to improve treatments unfortunately dominates the airways of the healthcare industry right now. We need to change the conversation. Improving payments and operations, that’s what we ought to talk about. Why? Online consumers are used to getting food, transport and pretty much everything everything else with a few clicks on the phone. Enormous amounts of dollars are spent on payment processing and operations, both by payers and providers, increasing the cost and quality of care. Those who don’t transition their (manual) services from fax machines, letters and phone calls to AI assisted, automated online services will become irrelevant. Very quickly. Payments and operations, that’s what we ought to talk about.

"the opportunity to disrupt ~$trillions of services TAM vs just the ~$billions of software TAM"....this is the thing....this is the ONLY thing or the only thing that matters

Great insights Julie Yoo. I’m Managing Director of Innov8Search, providing talent for the medical device / med tech, pharma and life sciences industries. I am interested in building a community of talent that can bring data science and AI insights to these industries that serve the healthcare industry. Your comment on the leapfrogging opportunity is a fascinating one. As well as the regulatory landscape.

services TAM >>> software TAM, a very keen, inciteful observation. As I had mentioned in a reply to a headline on the economist, AI may be losing hype but it is gaining reality

"IT budgets are only 3.5% of revenue in healthcare", and I would add - most is consumed to sustain a patchwork of legacy systems. 🤔 Where would #AI budgets - both in $$$ and personnel time - will come from?

Great points Julie Yoo ! Love the fax machines reference as its indicative of many silos within the healthcare IT infrastructure. Over last year or so, we have definitely seen a change across all of our healthcare customers to look at larger themes like patient engagement from the lens of AI instead of optimizing individual elements of the IT stack..
