Tech's consumer talent revolutionized social media, e-commerce, and transportation. Healthcare could be next. On the a16z Podcast, Vijay Pande, PhD and Daisy Wolf discuss: • Why the $4T healthcare industry needs tech's consumer-focused mindset • How Silicon Valley's playbook could build the next trillion-dollar company in medicine • The massive opportunity for founders to innovate at the intersection of tech and healthcare 🎧 Listen to the full episode: https://lnkd.in/guyMBTSu

We are solving loneliness which will have massive implications for a healthier global population. We could reduce depression by 20%, increase longevity for 30%, dementia, heart disease, the list goes on.

Daisy Wolf IMO, one difference between startups in tech vs health is the time it takes founding teams to fully understand the problem/s, hurdles, road blocks, and interoperability issues when building solutions for providers, that also interest payers, that are scalable, etc. Working to solve problems for one system is a challenge much less multiple systems. Many people want to build stuff before they understand the problem. Tech is easier in many regards.

Well seems like this talent exists as a matter of fact! Daisy Wolf but believe it or not this talent (aka me) no longer lives in Silicon Valley. This talent moves to LA 🌴 the only place where consumer meets tech meets health & wellness. I left the Bay Area and my tech job 6 months ago after working for Stripe and other 🦄 to build the first consumer app that lets you discover wellness secrets 🤩 from top people who live and breathe health (think yogis, health-conscious, athletes 💪 and longevity addicts). We’re launching an invite-only app in LA. Would love to show you how it’s going Daisy Wolf

Spot on! The brilliant minds venturing into healthcare verticals with innovative ideas to tackle long-standing problems that incumbent vendors haven’t, can’t, or are too busy to solve are a huge win for patients and providers/clinicians. Onward and upward!

Amazing: Healthcare consumers are the same end-users / customers in other industries. Just a hint which speculates that at the intersection of HC and Tech lies a plethora of opportunities for global industry players to generate value and make the world better. Will be listening to the full podcast this weekend. Thanks for sharing Andreessen Horowitz. Yoti Body-Lawson aligns to last conversation innit?

Wow. If we could transform behavior around how we approach healthcare the way we transformed connection with social media, I can only imagine what’d be possible. #DemocratizeGoodHealth

"...When you marry people who understand healthcare and people who understand consumer tech... magical things can happen." This is precisely what fires us up every single morning. Thanks for the continued inspiration, Daisy Wolf!
