For the transformation of the Old Administrative Center in Hasselt, a design by brutalist architect Louis Ghysebrechts, we proposed a design that envisions adaptive reuse of the building and the insertion of a new volume with two movie theaters. By removing tresholds, the existing volume is connected with the public space and accessibility to the foyer is increased. New functions supporting the program of the building are organised by adding new layers into the old. Team Vanderstraeten nv | Sweco | Daidalos Peutz bouwfysisch ingenieursbureau | Belcotec

This quote by Goethe draws a poetic parallel between music and architecture, highlighting their shared qualities: • Structure: Both music and architecture rely on carefully organized elements - notes and rhythms in music, shapes and spaces in architecture. • Harmony: Both aim to create a sense of balance and pleasing arrangement. • Temporal vs. Spatial: Music unfolds over time, flowing like liquid. Architecture exists in space, fixed like something frozen. • Emotional impact: Both can evoke strong feelings and create atmospheres. • Creative expression: They are forms of artistic expression, translating abstract ideas into tangible experiences. Goethe suggests that music and architecture are essentially different manifestations of the same creative impulse, one dynamic and ephemeral, the other static and enduring. At AESIT®, our design philosophy embody Goethe's vision, blending form and function to enhance people's lives. We are committed to serving our clients through sustainable progress, stylish aesthetics, and intelligent technology.

Unveiling Berlin Modern: A Symphony of Architecture and Art Narratives In a momentous occasion, the foundation stone for Berlin's newest cultural gem, the Berlin Modern, has been laid. Designed by the esteemed Swiss architecture firm Herzog & de Meuron, known for their iconic works like the Tate Modern, this museum is poised to become a hub for art, fostering communities and shared experiences. Join us on this exciting journey of building not just a structure, but a space for artists and art enthusiasts alike. Despite some controversy surrounding its cost and design, the construction of Berlin's Museum of Modern Art is now underway. With an anticipated opening in 2026, this project aspires to restore Berlin to its status as a thriving art hub. Minister Grütters, at the ceremony, emphasized that the Museum of the 20th Century will encapsulate the formative experiences of the past century, portraying its upheavals, abysses, and triumphs through the lens of art. The foundation stone, etched with "Berlin Modern - Grundsteinlegung - 9 Februar 2024," carries symbolic weight. However, when viewed through the lens of geometria and the art of the anagram, a hidden narrative emerges - "Berlin Normed - Struggle Unending." This juxtaposition draws the art of architecture into a counterpoint with its ceremony and the nature of 20th-century art. Scheduled to open in 2026, the Museum der Moderne serves as an extension of the Neue Nationalgalerie designed by Mies van der Rohe in 1968. The contentious discussions surrounding this future cultural hotspot, including its €450 million price tag, evoke questions about the role of the architect in relation to art and the profound dichotomy between the two. Delving into the layers of symbolism, we encounter the story of the Tower of Babel. In biblical lore, God, perturbed by human attempts to build a tower, causing them to become unified, introduced multiple languages to create division. However, in our contemporary context, the power lies not just in the word but in the letters themselves. The foundation stone, both a literal and metaphorical concept for the inaugural institution of architecture, invites reflection on the complex relationship between architects and the art they create. #BerlinModern #MuseumDerModerne #ArchitecturalNarratives #ArtAndArchitecture #CulturalHub #SymbolismInArchitecture

The Tura collection, shaped by the architectural heritage of 20th-century Barcelona, is Roca’s latest creation. Designed in collaboration with Catalan designer Andreu Carulla, it draws inspiration from iconic structures such as Antonio Bonet’s modernist house, ‘La Ricarda,’ José Antonio Coderch’s ‘Casa Ugalde,’ and the rationalist design approach of Josep Lluís Sert in creating the museum of modern art, Joan Miró Foundation.
