3D Quicksand Painting: Get your now:https://lnkd.in/d3RXG3_a 👉Layering and Depth Understanding Layers: A 3D quicksand painting involves layering materials to create a sense of depth. Use a base layer for the background, then add sand or similar materials in layers to give the appearance of depth. Each layer should represent a different level of the quicksand, with the topmost layer being the surface. 👉Material Selection Choosing the Right Materials: Use fine-grain sand for a realistic texture. You can mix the sand with adhesive materials like resin or glue to make it more durable. The choice of background material (canvas, wood, etc.) will also impact the final look and stability of the painting. 👉Perspective and Shadows Creating 3D Effect: To enhance the 3D effect, consider the perspective from which the painting will be viewed. Adding shadows with paint or by manipulating the sand layers will give the illusion of objects sinking into the quicksand. 👉Sealing and Preservation Final Finishing Touch: Once your painting is complete, seal it with a clear coat of resin or varnish. This not only preserves the painting but also enhances the 3D effect by adding a glossy finish that mimics the look of real quicksand.

Jenny McCracken will be holding 2 day 3D PAINTING WORKSHOP on 18th and 19th May 2024. https://lnkd.in/gUpvD5fz Location: West Lindfield Community Hall 10am to 4pm. Bookings: https://lnkd.in/gUpvD5fz $180.00 (non-KAS Members) $180 / KAS Members $130 for two days. Jenny is a wonderful and very enthusiastic artist and we are sure her workshop will be full of new ideas and concepts. She is a Street artist, but so much more than just street art. With her years of experience this workshop should not be missed. Bring along your friends who are artists or not to join in and learn. Please book online, if you have any problems, please ring KAS. It will be a great experience. ------------------------------- 3D PAINTING WORKSHOP KURINGAI. This workshop is designed to create a ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’ arrangement of individual canvases. Each canvas will work as a single stand-alone trompe l’oiel perspective piece, but the entire group can be set up together to show the complete collection of the Cabinet of Curiosities. Thus the variation of objects presented within the boxes, and colour scheme makes each cabinet collection a unique presentation. The colour palette for this set of boxes will be drawn from the hues of natural wood, and so any bold and bright colours in the objects will attract the eye. Each Artist will need to purchase, prime and prepare their canvas in advance. Canvases can be any one of these dimensions: Recommended minimum 10”(254mm) up to 18”(457mm) one direction X minimum 10”(254mm) up to maximum 24”(610mm) on the other axis. But really there are no rules: whatever you think you can comfortably cover in the time allotted is best. The only rule that needs to be adhered to is the thickness or depth off the wall of the canvas. Day 1 The randomly sized canvases will be arranged together at the start of the first day to make a connected shape, in a similar fashion to the boxes in the image below. Then we will draw in the perspective lines to determine the box shape for each canvas so they can be arranged as a single connected piece. The first day will be spent marking out the box shape, mixing colours from the base primed colour and painting in the sides and shadows to create the box. If there is time and painted boxes are dry enough some time can be spent sharing techniques for working up woodgrain texture. Day 2 Each artist will need to bring along an object, or image of an object, of meaning or particular interest to them to create our ‘Cabinet of Curiosities’. The sum of the stories create a narrative of significance, offering insight into the connecting values and relationships of the group. The object must be suitable to fit inside their box, or it can be a photograph of an object they wish to adapt to fit in the box space for this day’s work. I will help work out ways to do this if help is needed. – Reference object ( Day 2)
