Bike and walking paths are no different than other infrastructure around your town. Like roads, they should be assessed for condition and included in the operating and capital plans for repair or replacement as appropriate. This technology is really cool in that it standardizes condition reports so "fair" means the same thing no matter who did the assessment. I'm hoping all these communities add that information into the Asset Management system (like Brightly's) so they continue to be maintained as the valuable assets they are. Rough ride? Data bikes chart the condition of bike paths in more cities - Route Fifty (route-fifty.com)
