This is a good read from the Nuclear Innovation Alliance that identifies inhibitors to advanced nuclear projects. Most interesting for me to think about, is them identifying the most impactful private-sector action would be for offtakers to make capital commitments to provide a backstop for project completion cost (in exchange for a range of possible compensation, and with rights to review estimates and provisions to align incentives) and improve access to financing.

The FISA-EURADWASTE 2025 conference (May 12-16, 2025, Warsaw) will focus on nuclear fission safety and radioactive waste management. Co-organized with the European Commission, it will present Euratom research progress and discuss future nuclear innovations. Stakeholders, including researchers, industry experts, and policymakers, will explore challenges and advancements, such as small modular reactors (SMRs). The APIS Project, centered on nuclear safety, aligns well with the event's themes, offering a chance to network and collaborate on innovative nuclear solutions. https://lnkd.in/es5-kXVe

Suppliers play a critical role in the construction and operation of nuclear power plants. With a declining number of nuclear grade suppliers and a loss of skills in some regions, supply chain oversight raises specific challenges that require regulators to adopt new practices and increase co-operation. In this context, the newly established OECD-NEA Working Group on Supply Chain (WGSUP) will organise a workshop to build on the Agency’s previous work in the field of the nuclear supply chain and to discuss latest challenges. https://lnkd.in/dHywR972 #NuclearEnergy #SupplyChain
