This is real life. Last month I led a @FEMA L0105 Basic Public Information Officer training that concluded with a storm and flooding scenario. In that scenario, this log-clearing equipment was broken, leading to the closure of the interstate freeway and a major state highway. Scenarios like this help us train for how to respond, and with whom we need to work, in real disasters. #professionaldevelopment #training #emergencymanagement #PIOLife

Excellent example of governmental response activation processes pragmatically preparing for storm related support. Even for a non actionable event response scenario. Activation of critical resources and lines of communications for fostering positive interoperability. Plan, prepare, execute.
Governor Greg Abbott today directed TDEM to activate state emergency response resources ahead of tropical weather activity in the Gulf of Mexico that will begin to impact the state this week. Texans are urged to implement proactive measures to prepare for incoming weather, including making an emergency plan, following instructions from emergency officials, and monitoring local forecast information. #txwx

Hope you all stay safe during the severe weather that Beryl is bringing. Proper gas detection during a hurricane is crucial for chemical plants to ensure the safety of personnel, the surrounding community, and the environment. Hurricanes can cause structural damage, leading to leaks or releases of hazardous gases. Early detection allows for prompt response measures to mitigate risks, such as evacuations, containment, and shutdown procedures. Without effective gas detection, the likelihood of undetected leaks increases, potentially resulting in severe health hazards, fires, explosions, and long-term environmental contamination.#hurricanesafety #gasdetection #accusense
