Please do Gillian Keegan visit SEND and Autism Schools and also local Autism and SEND parent groups and forums. You will experience the real issues to why so many children and young people are being failed. Take responsibility and realise that many diagnosed and undiagnosed children with a hidden disability are being forced to go to school and when they don't go. The horrific and traumatic approach and behaviour from many untrained staff and TAs causing more damage to the mental wellbeing of our children and us parents... Never ends! Let's talk about years of LA panel refusing to understand one's child's diagnosis and comparing to other children. Yes I get it! but this one size fit all approach and no window to understand how autistic, ADHDers and PDAers children and young people and parents constantly penalised. You would think once they become young adults 16 plus things get better! Not at all as you see how they try and downsize your child's diagnosis to remove what's in their EHCP if they seem OK. My trio mask and how that has caused so much pressure on me. Hate the education system for the years of denial, lies and sabotage and parent blaming.. There are afew understanding teachers and TAs but not enough who still understand the dynamics of the impact of why so many children with a hidden disability miss school.
Going around the country nearly every week, I'm so lucky to meet incredibly talented children, inspirational teaching staff and hard-working parents all striving towards the same goal: to create a world-class education and improve life chances. That's why I'm in politics, and it's why I'm working to improve attendance in schools. Since the pandemic, countries around the whole world have faced the growing issue of rising absence in schools. We've been working on this for over two years, and I'm glad that there are 380,000 fewer children persistently absent or not attending school than last year. Through expanding attendance hubs and our attendance mentoring scheme, alongside the work by the Attendance Action Alliance, we're making progress, but we will go even further as we work together. Speaking with the children and teachers at St Christopher's Catholic Primary School in Liverpool this week, I know that if we follow our plan and work together, we can achieve this important ambition. #School #Teachers #Pupils #Children #Parents #Liverpool #Attendance #AttendanceHubs #AttendanceMentors #Education #Opportunity

From the archives... Great! You’ve taken your child out of public school, now take the educationally ineffective schooling paradigms (EISPs) out of your child’s education. Unfortunately, in charter schools (better though they may be), children will still fight the schooling system which cannot be pragmatically tailored to give a student individualized instruction that will maximize their learning potential. Christian school (even better yet) often carry over these EISPs into their programs. Interestingly, the main concern at the end of this article is about finding students for whom they cannot account, so they can be brought back into the schooling system. It is almost a subtle insinuation that they are not being educated at all, which presumes some parents (ahem, like home educating parents) are not caring for the educational needs of those children. I would recommend one not be so foolish as to proceed upon that assumption. #HomeEducation #homeschool #homeschooling #education #GetOutNow #PublicSchoolExit #ChristianEducation #EdcuationIsDiscipleship #ChristianHomeschoolRevolution https://lnkd.in/g2gwD_6e

Recess plays a critical role in the growth and development of children and can lead to improved academic performance! ⭐ In schools across the U.S., administrators and teachers are juggling priorities to help ensure the best for students and their families. While play can often take a backseat to academics and student well-being, the importance of recess shouldn’t be overlooked. Recess and play provide many benefits. ARP (American Rescue Plan) ESSER (Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief) U.S. government funding can be utilized to enhance student wellness and learning environments, including the development or improvement of playgrounds. Read more about the benefits of play for school children and contact your local rep to discuss a new playground: https://loom.ly/AG5NYTQ #PrimarySchool #ElementarySchool #Teacher #SchoolBoard
