#JAACAP #Translations: Adolescents with intellectual and developmental disorders face many barriers as they transition into adulthood. This creates an opportunity for child and adolescent psychiatrists to leverage their longitudinal relationships with youth and their families to provide assistance and support in navigating this process. This paper discusses transition planning and explains how child psychiatrists can guide individuals and families through this process while centering on principles of self-determination and individualized support. https://lnkd.in/e6qkuWr7
