Marcus Mann of Hannover 96 has led the rebuild at the club with 3 core ideals: 1. Process "The fact that a club like Hannover 96 is always ambitious is probably in the nature of things." "But we know that we have to take one step at a time." "The last few years have been less successful and we didn't slip into this situation within three months. That's why we won't be out in three months." "That will be a longer way." "Yet we have a clear plan on how we want to get there. Even if it wasn't always easy to bring them to Hanover, the individual players could identify with our path." 2. Patience "It was part of our plan to also make the squad extremely younger. Last year we had a relatively high average age." "If you want to build something, you have to think two or three years ahead." "The players are now all of an age, so to say, in one, two, three years they will still be at a good footballer age." "Everyone's goal is to move forward with the club." "Our goal was to have a top dog and a young challenger in each position." "Some youngsters have attracted attention early in the season." "They keep the pace high and it's a pleasure to watch them." "The mix of young and old fits right now." 3. Pathways "It is very clear that the academy is very important to us. "We are very well positioned with the infrastructure in Eilenriede & have an academy that you simply have to use as it is - anything else would be negligent." "The young players in the academy should have the opportunity to become professionals here." "We will encourage and prepare them for this." "We want to ensure that the doors to the professional area are wide open - but in the end they have to go through them themselves."
