This post might not go over well... So I am sorry in advance. But I need to get it off my chest. The last few days back in Toronto I have had a few young rockstars come up to me on the streets and tell me all these amazing things they think of me and my story. How they look forward to my Instagram posts and LinkedIn posts. Although very flattering I need to level set just who I am with you all. As a young kid in my teens, I wanted to be a MILLIONAIRE!!! So one day I can provide for my family and do something good in the world! I would watch guys like Gary Vaynerchuk and Tony Robbins for 10 hours a day. I would start a new business every weekend. Driveway sealing, window cleaning, a paper route... it didn't matter. The PAIN I would simply ignore. The STRESS I would simply ignore. This is how it is supposed to feel right? Eventually, the businesses worked. And I made money. I made A LOT of it. More than I could have ever imagined. Got the awards, got the exit, got the car, got the house, got the girl... boxes were checked. But for the young guns reading this, I want to tell you something nobody ever told me about this journey... Hustling IS good. I still do it, and I still outwork most of you ;) But please... please... please... realize that it is only ONE BUCKET. There is so much more to life than just filling the one bucket of money and success. I neglected ALL of the other buckets in my come-up. - My health suffered (mentally and physically) - My friendships suffered - My connection to my family suffered. - My joy and happiness... empty. - My connection to god evaporated. - My intimate relationships were dust. - Nobody wanted to be around me... I was empty and convinced myself that was how it was supposed to be. I was wrong. Now at 29... I am still just learning like the rest of you. However, I can tell you with confidence... there is a LOT more to life than just making money. Fill all your buckets, and prioritize what is important in this short life <3 ps: The above is one of the main reasons the Founders Club exists... #Happymonday #letswintheday

Wow this is so me. During our 2 seed round years, I became unrecognizable to my five kids… I used to be a stay at home mom, and once we started on the “CPG brand founder” route, we had to keep going, or we could lose everything. I worked myself to the ground for two years. I echo this times one million now that I am out of the two year seed stage. It took everything I had, but now we have made it, and I pray it was worth it for my kids… the reason we’ve done any of this 😳

I think the problem for a lot of people is that they strive their entire life to fill the money bucket and a lot of people only are successful after 20 or 30 years and then realize how empty life really is. The problem for so many is that they’ve completely neglected everything else and a lot of it is irreparable, including family relationships, spouses, kids, parents. I love chatting with younger founders and trying to help them see the true priorities of life. Money is really at the end of the day just a lagging indicator of a great life and a great business.

One of the most important & tell it like it is posts I have read. Thank you Aaron and for sharing this. Took me a long time to get it Don't think the learning ever stops Entrepreneurs a must read & learn ! Ps. Would like to add. One thing that challenged me is if I screwed up at work , that meant I screwed up as a person. What total nonsense

There’s a lot I could say about how much gold is in this post but after typing it out already I quickly maxed out how many characters I could type before I exceeded the limit so I’ll keep this brief, for anyone who hasn’t yet reached that one specific mark of success on your journey to freedom (whatever that looks like for you), please absorb and digest this post deeply. What happens after you buy that dream car, house, vacation, retirement, relationship etc? What quality of life do you have with all that money and freedom if you don’t have your relationships both outer and inner in a good and healthy place? Go get your dream no matter what but take care of yourself and maintain the important relationships. You will celebrate one day when it all works out but trust me, you don’t want to do that alone if you can manage it. Absolute GOLD of a post Aaron Spivak. Please continue to speak about this topic.

Appreciate the vulnerability, Aaron Spivak. I envy and look upto you in regards to your entrepreneurial journey and how far you’ve come. As a young individual who is struggling with finances at the moment, the bucket/check box for making money and being in shape takes precedence over everything. I believe; if one is in shape and has financial freedom, rest of your tasks and checklist becomes easier to manage as you have a stronger mindset and you have more resources on your side.

100%....it's easy to say "I'll do those things when the business is not so crazy", but then you look up 2 years later and realize it hasn't slowed down. Find healthy routines and they will become habits.

What isn't talked about enough is how success without balance can leave you feeling hollow, even with all the trappings of wealth.

What is your thought on being able to balance all of those buckets, while building a multi-million dollar business? Is it just a matter of prioritizing & scheduling correctly? Or do some buckets need to suffer?

Figuring this out at 29 is pretty elite, brother. Kudos to you - and it's so true. While you climb the mountain, don't forget to look at the view, look after those climbing with you, and remember God for the blessings to climb.
