Technology hiring update. A lot has changed in 10 months! - Half the companies have gone back to in office/hybrid - Supply/demand has swapped sides - It's taking months instead of weeks for great engineers to land a job - Salaries have softened. More competition for fewer jobs This started with FAANG layoffs when 500,000 good engineers flooded the market and applied to all the hot companies. Talent Acquisition Managers that ARE hiring have had new challenges. Their workload has increased...doing more with less! (sound familiar ;?) A friend of mine went through 800+ applicants to hire a Product Designer. She goes through 400+ applicants for each software hire. The market has also been flooded with many amazing Recruiters after big layoffs in Talent Acquisition. I've been so lucky and so blessed! So many in my industry are struggling. I've been able to shift my business this year towards more traditional/essential software companies where business is still strong: - Construction Software - Geoscience Software - Building Architecture and Design Software (creative use of office space) - Heating/Air Conditioning on Demand Software - Church Software (used to help people through family/marriage/mental health counseling, addiction recovery programs, and personal and spiritual growth programs) I've seen some momentum lately...so stay positive and keep an eye on the trail ahead!

Technology Hiring Update - 2024 - Salaries are still soft. We need to be flexible - Competition is still high. Apply quickly when jobs come out! - In office/hybrid is expected again. The market seems to have settled on hybrid as the norm ------------------------------ What do you think about the next 10 months? Will it be FunTech, FaithTech, AgTech, FinTech, HealthTech? How about Space, Defense, Security or Robotics? - I like ecommerce for retail and entrepreneurs. Shopify has strong momentum again - I'm bullish on AgTech - Cyber and AI are diversified across industries, so they are better than most but it's hard to find an entry point into those verticals The flood waters are receding! The next 10 months will be better. Let's ride!

You've hit the changes in the market dead on, but not just for engineers. I'm seeing it across multiple industries.
