Photography plays an important role in our coral reproductive research. Lit with differing excitation and emission spectrums the red fluorescent proteins (RFP) of the symbiont algae contrast well against the green fluorescent proteins (GFP) in these new released Pocillipora damicornis planula larvae. By insolating the emission spectrum to 590nm, only the RFP are capture allowing the distribution of the symbionts within the larvae to be observed. Using the Canon EOS R6 full spectrum camera allows us to leverage the full effect of this microscopy technique. Canon EOS R6 full spectrum 1/350, ISO1000, 10 image z stack at 520nm emission spectrum. 1/160, ISO6000, 12 image z stack at 590nm emission spectrum.
