Is it time for ABA professionals to…Unionize?!?😳 I hear you! The money is not enough considering the education and experience needed. I hear you! Chasing the all-important billable hour is necessary to feed the family but is not best-practice clinically. I hear you! Private equity investments and others motivated by tangible reinforcement have done unethical things under the name of ABA…yet there are some advantages to big money. I hear you! It’s a science but companies are not fully (or at all) invested in research. I hear you! Our current system of apprenticeship and supervision is completely unorganized. I hear you! Some of the people we serve and helped say we’ve traumatized them. I hear you! This job BURNS YOU OUT! Could unionizing our field be the answer? Power to the practitioners!?! What if you could ditch the "supervision headaches" and do the work that made you love ABA? 🤯🤔👀 In most ABA models, BCBAs design the plans, supervise RBTs, and analyze progress from a distance. But with 1-tier ABA, you’re not just supervising—you’re the one directly implementing those plans. Here’s what that means: 📈 No more endless back-and-forth trying to explain data trends to someone else. You’re the one collecting it. 💡 Real-time adjustments based on what you see in sessions—not days or weeks later. 🏡Stronger relationships with families and clients because you’re the one working with them day in, day out. As someone who started as an RBT, I’ll always appreciate the value they bring. But in 1-tier ABA, we simplify the process while keeping the quality of care high—and, honestly, it brings back the joy of doing what we trained for. 💡 Fellow BCBAs, what do you think? 🌟 Young Professionals and Lloyds Banking Group Webinar🌟 In the last week, I was lucky enough to attend a webinar hosted by Young Professionals and Lloyds Bank. The session had valuable information about apprenticeships and employment opportunities in The Lloyds Banking Group. 💼 Key Highlights: Presentations & Videos:  The employment choices that Lloyds Bank offers were showcased for aspiring apprentices and graduates alike. 💬Chats with Alumni & Graduates: Hearing the experiences from those who have graduated from the programme, really cleared questions that I wanted answered. Skills Insights: Soft Skills:  A clear stakeholder approach was visible as care for the community adaptability, and teamwork were all ongoing themes throughout the webinar. Hard Skills: They recommended examples of hard skills that would be helpful for young people that they look for such as programming. Advice for Future Apprentices: The alumni shared tips on, balancing work and study, still enjoying their social life and getting through the application process. Thank you to Young Professionals and Lloyds Bank for organising the event and allowing young people such as myself to get the opportunity to learn more. 😊

Employers affected by the recent cancellation of IIET and Gills College See the fact sheet on next steps: https://lnkd.in/g4qG2NzS The oft-stated advice is to: 👉 Confirm the conditions contained in the employment contract as to whether you need to maintain employment of someone with a cancelled qualification 👉 Confirm the requirements of regulated sectors (e.g. healthcare) regarding legal obligations to inform clients and/or the sector regulator 👉 Get authenticated USI transcripts to confirm actual qualifications held (https://lnkd.in/gaqP_7-s) Across both providers, qualifications have been issued in areas not limited to but including: Individual Support Child, Youth and Family Intervention Disability Mental Health Community Services Business Leadership and Management Information Technology Commercial Cookery Travel Hospitality Further advice to employers to support valid qualifications for those students who will have their fraudulently-issued credentials cancelled: "Employees could undertake a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment with a provider. RPL may be based on evidence collected through formal, non-formal and informal learning to determine the extent to which a person has achieved the required learning and/or competency outcomes to be awarded a unit of credit; this is often matched with ‘gap’ training, to meet the full competency requirements of a unit or course."
