According to Freddie Mac today: The 30-Year Fixed-Rate Mortgage Decreases MCLEAN, Va., Aug. 31, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Freddie Mac (OTCQB: FMCC) today released the results of its Primary Mortgage Market Survey® (PMMS®), showing the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage (FRM) averaged 7.18 percent. “Mortgage rates leveled off this week but remain elevated. Despite continued high rates, low inventory is keeping house prices steady,” said Sam Khater, Freddie Mac’s Chief Economist. “Recent volatility makes it difficult to forecast where rates will go next, but we should have a better gauge in September as the Federal Reserve determines their next steps regarding interest rate hikes.” News Facts 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 7.18 percent as of August 31, 2023, down from last week when it averaged 7.23 percent. A year ago at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 5.66 percent. 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.55 percent, unchanged from last week. A year ago at this time, the 15-year FRM averaged 4.98 percent.

We decided to review the submissions, analyse and highlight one of our favourites! ⭐️ E.ON’s Energy as a Service (EaaS) model makes intuitive sense, by providing that holy grail of energy nerd solutions, the EaaS model, to householders. 🤫 Let’s face it, the mass market really doesn’t care about energy - they just want to be cool on a hot day, to have hot water for the shower and (increasingly) not to worry about when to charge the car! That’s where EaaS options come in. By “guaranteeing” all those things will be available at a fixed price, and taking responsibility for lowering emissions, consumers should have a really attractive proposition. It could signal the future of energy retail, or it could die a quick death. The devil will be in the detail of those contracts, including how quickly they identify and respond to issues, whether consumers happily give up their data, and how they explain and sell the idea. 🧑💻 The Google Maps experience suggests consumers will give up Personally Identifiable Information (PII) in exchange for a tool improves their lives. But would it have been successful, if we'd had to pay for it? Only time will tell if EaaS can successfully go to market strategy, but financing home electrification is going to need lots of different models to tackle the mass market. Why Financial Education is Important in Supporting Homeownership David Camp, CEO and Founder, HomeScout As industry professionals, we are keenly aware of what is required to become a homeowner. Many American’s, however, are not educated on or aware of the financial preparation needed to become mortgage ready. Financial literacy and the path to homeownership are not subjects taught in most schools, and for many of us, not something our parents sat us down and taught us. Personal finance literacy is crucial for anyone who wants to achieve financial stability and security, and homeownership is no exception. A strong foundation of understanding the importance of financial fitness and how to obtain it can help support various life goals, including homeownership. Consumers with sound learnedness in personal finances are not only better prepared and qualified borrowers, but are also able to make informed decisions about the mortgage process and are more equipped for the financial responsibilities that come with homeownership.
