Vijay Chaddha "I am an Automobile Engineer with over four decades of experience in leadership roles across Sales & Marketing, After-sales service and Profit centre management in organizations like Eicher Tractors, Automobile Products of India Limited, TOYOTA DCM, MODI CHAMPION LTD, Deepak Shriram Group and Birla Yamaha. I also had an opportunity to lead the retail business of premium and luxury car brands while managing PRIME HONDA as Managing Director and Deutsche Motoren (One of the largest retail dealerships for BMW cars in India) as CEO before taking a break to initiate my entrepreneurial venture as a Business Consultant specialised in Data analytics and Process Excellence. I was fairly content in my career, as it was chugging along smoothly, till an unexpected opportunity arose. My boss decided to leave and I was offered a leadership position at Honda. I felt unsure about being ready for the added responsibility. However, I embraced the challenge and that became a turning point in my life and career. There were no notable failures along the way but I was aware of the slow pace of it. Sticking to my core values of being positive, humble, focused and simple, helped me to create opportunities for myself. Success is a slow phenomenon and does not come overnight. Disciplined focus on core values over time certainly paved the way for greater things. A key skill that led to success was to approach every endeavour with well-defined objectives, timelines, and a system of accountability and structured monitoring. Another important skill was to work towards ensuring the success of colleagues which automatically guaranteed my own success. A lesson I hold closely is “Anything that is scheduled will happen and every aspect that gets measured starts growing”." Half A Decade!✅ 5 years since I’ve been a part of this exciting, interesting, & highly competitive “Automotive Sector” Everyone I speak to ( who knows I am from automotive sector) tells me about new launches lo by brands, new features, & also whether Tesla is coming to India or not 😅 That’s the charm Automotive sector carries . Having spent 5 years in Automotive sales , across regions, different territories overseeing sales & marketing, below have been my key learnings - * Start with a learning mindset - You can learn something new at every place and every territory you visit. * Try to add value that improves at least 1 of 3 : Customer Experience , Manpower skills or Business Profitability * One size doesn’t fit all: You will need a different approach at each business unit, there will be different problems to be addressed, some of which you might have not seen in spite of a rich experience in this field. Most importantly, I believe it’s first an experience industry, then a product & service industry. In automotive sales , providing a delightful buying experience is half the work done ☑️ #Automotive #India #exciting #milestone

1996: I joined as a site engineer with just 13 employees & 60 Lakhs revenue. 2024: Working as a President in the same organization with revenue of 200+ Cr and global presence. During my early days, I focused only on closing sale deals and field management. Mainly the tasks that were my direct responsibility, and short-term goals that gave immediate results. I wasn't growing, and neither was the company at the pace it could. But after initial few months, one meeting with Sir Ivan Dcosta and Gavin D'costa and later interactions with Vinita Dcosta, changed my MINDSET completely. It made me realise Key to success, i.e, The company's growth = My growth This new perspective helped me align my goals with the company's mission. Now I always think about results that give long-term benefits and contribute to the success of my company. 3 mindset shifts that helped me grow: 1️⃣ From "just a job" to "The mission" Stop viewing work as just a paycheck. Instead, find purpose by aligning your efforts with a larger goal that excites you. 2️⃣ From "me" to "we" Shift focus from personal success to team success. True leadership is about helping others shine and achieving collective growth. 3️⃣ From "fixed" to "growth" mindset Replace "I can't" with "How can I?" Embrace challenges as opportunities to learn and grow, rather than obstacles to avoid. And as a result? → From 13 employees, 60 Lakhs revenue to 150+ employees, 200+ Cr revenue → Together cracked bigger projects with the likes of Mahindra, Tata Motors, Hyundai, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, General Motors, Ford, Mercedes Benz, Maruti Suzuki, Hero Motocorp, Bajaj Auto, TVS Motors, Royal Enfield, MG, etc. → It’s been 28+ years in the same company and thriving alongside Patvin Engineering Private Limited → Growth from site engineer to president, from local operations to global scale. When you decide to grow your vision, the REAL GROWTH happens. What is that mindset shift which helped you grow in your career? #CareerGrowth #LeadershipLessons #PersonalDevelopment #growthmindset

My first experience in a private company was completely different from my family business. Where I was my own boss, free from judgment for my mistakes, and faced minimal pressure with no internal competition. But the scenario there in Maruti Suzuki India Limited was totally reversed and i was a Newcomer competing with seasoned sales professionals with years of experience in negotiations and moulding minds of customers, cherry to the cake was there exceptional Communication skills. Facing such an intense competition i was left with the two choices: 1.Leave the job and peacefully enjoy my life which was no struggle at all. 2.Strive hard to prove my existence and develop those skills set to get myself prepared for future endeavours. I chose the second option because these things don't bring down my morale, even open up the opportunity to learn more. This decision was proved right. • I learned to get myself motivated with the work pressure and competition • I Significantly improved my communication skills • I built my confidence • Gained insight into consumer psychology while buying or investing and a lot more . • Build some valuable connection and friends for lifetime Now while doing my MBA i recognize how valuable practical experience is for understanding business concepts more deeply.

Hello Friends! Let me introduce to you another success story; I found someone "Beyond Exceptional". He is a real life example of a compelling vision, perseverance and resilience. His name is Muhammad Imran Javed, he is currently heading Parts Department at Toyota Garden Motors. His story illustrates how an entry level position in the retail auto industry can be promoted with concentrated efforts, dedication and determination transformed into a brilliant career. Imran Javed started his graceful journey on the road to success as a *"Dentor"* in 2004 at *Toyota Garden Motors.* He showed up to work everyday with the same zeal and enthusiasm. Keeping in view his performance, Management promoted him to Service Reception as *"Body and Paint Advisor."* Later, he was moved to Parts Department as *Executive Parts.* He became the hardest learning student in the dealership. He got promoted as Asst. Manager Parts and then *Managers Parts.* He won many *Regional awards* and *Best in Parts Award, Nationwide* from Indus Motor Company Limited. Imran Javed story is a powerful example of believing in yourself. Starting from an entry level, Dentor and Becoming a Head of Parts Department wasn't a walk in Park. It's the result of long work hours, sleepless nights and determination. Great Muhammad Ali said "champions aren't made in the Gym. Championd are made from something they have deep inside them. A vision, a dream, a desire." My dear friends Believe in Yourself, you will be unstoppable. Let's ask yourself: What do you want in life? Who is stopping you to achieve what you want? What do you stand for? #moazzamabubakar #theautomotivator #BeyondExceptional

Maruti is a car brand most written about, yet it consistently contravenes conventional sales and marketing principles. I have encountered numerous analogies, although most appear to reiterate similar ideas. I believe Maruti's current position is more attributable to their heads-down attitude than to any other factors. #Desire achieving a #5star rating may have surprised many; yet, it is often overlooked that obtaining #NCAPratings for these large corporations is entirely discretionary. It actually is #Maruti determining the timing and method of execution. Likewise, while discussing their top-selling model, we frequently overlook that it is entirely at their discretion whatever model is made in the greatest quantity for sale in a given month. Many would not believe that it is consistently a game of musical chairs among their top five models. Equally astonishing is the reality that they market their Turbo model without batching it. Nevertheless, they sell the #Fronx Turbo more than the #VW, which is regarded as the preeminent turbocharged vehicle. Notably, each brand that has attempted to capture Maruti's market share by introducing comparable value items has been eliminated. The success of #Hyundai, #Toyota, #TATA, and #Mahindra has occurred only after they diverged from products identical to those of Maruti. As a marketer, I am consistently intrigued by the insights of #MSIL top executives. The solution escapes me, and I anticipate insights from prominent marketing executives or individuals like @RaviG Bhatia, whose significant data expertise may assist in deciphering this complexity. https://lnkd.in/ggudUNnq

Vodafone polished the Training skills, developed content, led teams, and got into the Telecom sector deep. 6. Videocon leading the Behavioural training was Life time experience, made some of my closest lifetime friends there. 7.
