By creating a comprehensive multidisciplinary treatment plan and referral team, you can work together to meet the various needs of an individual experiencing trafficking and their family members. Supporting Survivors Beyond Awareness: The Swing for Hope Impact 🏌️⛳ Yesterday, the Domestic Violence Crisis Center (DVCC) hosted the "Swing for Hope" charity golf tournament at the beautiful Minot Country Club. As a coach who stands by countless brave men rebuilding their lives after domestic violence, events like these are close to my heart. 💔➡️💪 One thing always stands out at such gatherings—the spirit of community. When locals, businesses, and organizations come together, the message is loud and clear: "You are not alone!" 🌟 What's next? 🌟 While fundraisers like these are critical, the journey doesn't end with raising funds. I've shared in the transformation and healing that comprehensive support, like provided by DVCC, can foster. Emotional recovery, mental health counseling, and the safety of a supportive environment are invaluable. Our #FPOW this week is Wellbeing in Action. Every one of us hits difficult times when life is far from contented, even to feeling pointless. Every one of us has opportunity to extend a hand in help, and sometimes to reach out a hand for a little help. Wellbeing in Action navigate that transaction between people - not giving out charity, but enabling people to receive support when it's needed and paying it forward when times are better. Wellbeing in Action don't put limits on the kind of practical solutions they find but they can be providing therapy and counselling, support groups, mentors and #Befrienders. They can be about connecting people to combat #Loneliness and help people feel valued for their skills and contribution. They can be very practical things like helping someone who is vulnerable to improve their living conditions with some basic DIY. They can be about giving someone an experience they never thought possible - a sanctuary retreat for a family supporting a loved one through palliative care or coming to terms with a bereavement, or giving a free prom dress to a young woman who has suffered trauma and lives with acute anxiety. They might be about getting young mums together or giving support to dads who have become separated from their children - or it might be about helping someone with debt management, helping someone facing eviction or repossession in sorting Court paperwork and being at their side to give them courage to deal with the problems. Wellbeing in Action run regular groups and have key themes, particularly to support women and young people, but every individual who comes through their door is welcomed as one of the family and if they can't do something themselves, they probably know someone who can! To make this happen they need people... people who have a generous heart and donate equipment or make donations, people who #Volunteer their time and skills, people who have had hard times themselves and feel proud to help someone else benefit from their experience. I believe in the power of collective action to drive positive change.    The Vinnies CEO Sleepout is my first step towards raising awareness and supporting those in need.    A commitment deeply personal to me.    I recently learned, with great surprise and sadness, that my close cousin's passing was related to mental health issues    Something I was unaware of despite our close bond.    It was eye-opening and deeply troubling.    This experience has propelled me to take a firm stance on the importance of mental health awareness and support.    Did you know that in our country  - 3% of people are sleeping rough or in improvised dwellings  - while 14% are in supported accommodation for the homeless?    Excruciating numbers.     Numbers that highlight the urgent need to address #homelessness and mental health challenges.    Mental health is the number one reason people seek help from homelessness services.    By participating in the CEO Sleepout, I aim to raise awareness and support for those in our country who battle with this daily.    Join me and these limitless leaders in this crucial mission of empathy and action.
