READ JOB ADVERTS beyond the position title before applying. I totally appreciate the fact that jobs are or may be hard to come by and many job seekers are 'chancing' their luck. The easiest way to check your suitability for an advertised role is to take your CV on one hand and the JOB advert or description on one hand. Take a pen in one hand and go through each requirement or spec on the advert. Cross tick and see how many specs you meet. Watch out for words like PREREQUISITE or A MUST on specs, it usually means these are non negotiable. If you are not sure, seek guidance, this is why many apply for jobs, can't understand why they are not getting responses. Read, discern what is possibly negotiable, for example ad says 15 years experience and you 13 years experience, a company may consider your application. Bottom line is READ CAREFULLY all job adverts beyond the POSITION TITLE before applying. #jobsearch

🚨 Alert: Awareness about Potential Issues with Indian Job Portals 🚨 Dear Job Aspirants, It's important to be aware of potential challenges when navigating job portals. Some platforms have been reported by users to have practices that may not be in the best interest of job seekers. Users have shared experiences involving: Registration Fees Initial Fees Mandatory Background Check Fees Resume Development Fees (ATS etc...) Interview preparation training Fees These reported fees can total around ₹30,000 to ₹50,000 minimum!!! Most users have also reported receiving calls from interviewers only to be told they did not succeed in the interview as they had not qualified for the company's requirements, leading to financial and emotional distress. In my 14 years of management experience in MNCs, I have observed that companies typically pay recruiters 13-18% per candidate of their CTC. It is not appropriate for recruiters to ask job seekers to bear these costs. Let's spread awareness and ensure job seekers are informed. Tagging relevant authorities to look into these user-reported issues: @MinistryOfLabour @PMOIndia @IndianPolice @INCIndia @cpimspeak @TimesofIndia @htTweets @ndtv @IndiaToday @republic @the_hindu @EconomicTimes @ZeeNews @IndianExpress @Firstpost @BBCNews @CNN @Reuters @AlJazeera @nytimes @WashingtonPost @guardian @ABC @SkyNews @CBCNews Below are some phone numbers that users have reported receiving persistent calls from potential fraudsters: 08035468268 08035241844 08069913658 08035468268 01246096133 01246096135 08037071445 07948061143 07969200565 Let's create awareness and protect our job seekers. Let's talk about... 🔹 JOB DESCRIPTIONS 🔹 A good Job Description should be used alongside a Person Specification to detail: ✔ Duties & Responsibilities ✔ Qualifications and Experience required ✔ Benefits & Pacakge information ✔ Company/team structure ✔ Hours of work ✔ Brief summary of the company and what they do It is NOT an advert! A Job Advert should be used to grab your attention.... ...A Job Description gives you the extra details that you need to help you decide if this is the role for you, or to prepare for an interview. But did you know ❔ That as recruiters, we can give you EVEN more information than any document can! Say what?! 😲 We can give you the inside scoop 🍨 and all those extra little bits that you'll never get in print! I help the boards of fast growth firms through a combination of board advice, recruitment, executive coaching and consultancy
Job Descriptions Shouldn't Be Used as Job Adverts I was recently speaking with an HR Director about the challenges companies face when hiring. One key issue stood out: many job adverts are bland, clinical, and read more like a standard job description. This is a huge missed opportunity in a competitive job market. When we post job adverts, we need to remember that we're not just informing potential candidates about what the job entails - we're selling the opportunity! Dry, impersonal listings won't attract the top talent. Your job advert should inspire people to want to work for you. It should reflect your company's culture, values, and what makes this role exciting or unique. A compelling job advert sends the right signals to potential applicants and showcases why you're a great place to work. #HiringTips #TalentAttraction #JobAdverts

Identifying a "fake" job posting can save job seekers from wasted time, frustration, and potential scams. At Wise Medical, we prioritize #transparency and your well-being, especially in today’s unpredictable healthcare job market. Here are some tips to help you spot a fake job posting: #Vague Job Description: Legitimate job listings are clear and detailed. If the description is overly vague, with little to no mention of specific qualifications or duties, it could be a red flag. #Request for Payment or Sensitive Information: Be cautious if a job asks for personal information, such as your Social Security number or payment for background checks upfront. Legitimate employers will not ask for these until after a formal offer has been made. #Unprofessional Communication: Look out for job postings that have poor grammar, spelling mistakes, or unprofessional email addresses. A reputable company will communicate professionally and through official channels. #Too Good to Be True: If a job offers an unusually high salary with minimal qualifications or promises quick promotions without specifics, it’s likely a scam. #Lack of Company Information: Genuine job postings will include details about the company, such as its location, website, and a clear point of contact. If the company’s name is missing, or you can't verify the company online, it could be fake. #Immediate Offers Without Interviews: Be wary of job offers that come without a formal interview process. A legitimate company will take time to review your application, conduct interviews, and check your qualifications. #Urgency to Act Fast: Scammers often push job seekers to make quick decisions. A legitimate employer will give you time to think over an offer, not rush you into anything. At Wise Medical, we’re committed to helping you navigate the healthcare job market safely. Job seekers deserve transparency, and we’re here to protect your interests. Contact Wise Medical TODAY! 614-775-8416

I am still looking for the right position, but I AM getting interviews. Here's my strategy: -Apply for jobs locally, be willing to work in office -Apply for ANYTHING that I am qualified for as long as it pays enough to pay my bills (office admin jobs have been popular) -Apply for jobs posted in the last 24 hours on Indeed/LinkedIn, and do this daily so I am not missing any new gems -Have TWO resumes ready, one for the two different types of jobs I would consider -MAKE MY RESUME ONE PAGE. And simple. I was using a pretty two-page one for a few months and got NOWHERE. Switched to a "boring" one-pager and interviewed with eight companies over just two weeks. I fully expect job offers to come in the next week or two because of these strategies, especially the one-page resume. Sending job search well-wishes to everyone still looking! #jobsearch #newjobs #yougotthis
