We’re always challenging ourselves to make packaging choices that are better for the environment – without compromising on cost or quality. It’s an important part of our sustainable Packaging Policy: Refuse Firstly, we consider whether packaging is necessary at all, ensuring quality and safety aren’t affected. If a fruit is protected by its own natural packaging for example, there’s no need to use plastic. Reuse Where packaging is required, we try to work with our suppliers to switch to using refillable packaging – like with our Club Zero range. Recycle Finally, we use materials that can be easily recycled. If there's something our customers can’t recycle at home, we’ll collect it alongside their delivery boxes and take care of it responsibly. Circular packaging promotes sustainable packaging for the products that consumers use every day, reducing overall packaging, making packaging recyclable or compostable, creating packaging from post-consumer recycled materials and making packaging reusable. Unlike traditional packaging, which is often swiftly discarded after use, circular packaging aims to prolong its lifecycle, reducing the environmental impact of frequent consumption. Companies are increasingly committing to sustainable practices, focusing on aggressive recyclability and carbon footprint reduction. These include prioritizing recycled content, promoting compostable and reusable packaging and championing zero waste goals. *Sustainable packaging in a circular economy In the context of a circular economy, packaging serves the function of protecting goods and food items. Protective packaging mitigates the environmental and economic impact of spoiled food and damaged products, while minimizing the rising food waste and plastic waste and avoiding larger landfills. Achieving sustainable packaging solutions requires careful consideration of materials, environmental impact and functionality to ensure optimal product protection with minimal packaging. While there’s no one-size-fits-all solution to achieving the balance of sustainable packaging solutions, adopting truly circular strategies requires a carefully designed approach to meeting the unique needs, variables and limitations of each package and its functionality in terms of the product it contains. #GSPackaging #packaging #sustainability #environmentallyfriendly #ecofriendlypackaging #compostablepackaging

New Year's Resolution: Introduce sustainable packaging solutions for your food products! At Lacerta, we’re committed to weaving sustainability into every aspect of our business. Our four-point sustainability promise to you: -- Innovation 💡 Innovation touches every part of our manufacturing process. Using state-of-the-art recycling technology helps reduce costs making the use of recycled plastic competitive with virgin resins. -- Closed Loop Technology 🔁 20 to 50% of plastic in production becomes trim scrap, which means it's cut from the product. We recycle all of that scrap for future reuse, while our closed-loop water system keeps our water waste way down. --Energy Conservation 🔋 Using recycled materials helps us conserve energy. Processing Post Consumer Regrind (PCR) requires 79% less energy and produces 67% less emissions compared to virgin PET. --Sourcing ℹ Where you get your recycled plastic matters. We work with sourcing partners in the U.S. and around the world to reduce plastic waste in local communities and in the environment. The global sustainable packaging market is experiencing significant growth, driven by increasing recognition of the need for environmentally friendly packaging solutions. This trend is fueled by rising concerns about climate change, plastic pollution, and resource depletion. In 2018, Australia introduced the 2025 National Packaging Targets, aiming for 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable packaging, 70% plastic recycling, 50% recycled content, and phasing out single-use plastics by 2025. Government regulations and policies promoting sustainable practices influence consumer buying behaviour. According to the 2023 Buying Green Report, 82% of survey participants are willing to pay extra for sustainable packaging, highlighting the continued importance of environmental considerations for consumers, even amid economic challenges. The enthusiasm is even higher among younger consumers (18–24 year-olds), with a leading percentage of 90%. Meanwhile, companies are actively finding sustainable alternatives to traditional packaging materials, such as paper, cardboard, bioplastics, and plant-based polymers, to cater to consumer preferences, lower environmental impact and enable natural decomposition. At Primepac Australia, we provides an array of eco-friendly packaging solutions that incorporate recyclable or compostable materials, versatile shapes, and innovative styles. Our sustainable packaging solutions are aligned with the increasing need for environmentally conscious products. Let's be a part of the global sustainable packaging movement and contribute to a greener future.
