What is conscious collective action? It is inspired by team dynamics that are rooted in integration, emergence and abundance. It's beautiful to see Ecovilla bringing these principles to life as a regenerative, purpose-inspired community takes form in San Mateo, Costa Rica. Marcelo Valansi Juan Barberis Integration: Can we see tension as an opportunity to integrate our shadows? When we do, then it becomes natural to fully welcome the diversity of personalities needed for any team to thrive. Emergence: Can we release centralized control? When we do, decentralized governance allows innovation to emerge from co-creation on the edges. Abundance: Can I contribute in a spirit of gift, in a way that vitalizes me, nourishes others and benefits the whole? When we do, we crowd in abundance in situations that might otherwise feel stuck in scarcity. Are you ready to activate the potential of conscious collective action?
"The Original Vision" Panel from the Ecofestival at Ecovilla San Mateo, where the project founders and shareholders talk about the original Ecovilla vision, featuring Marcelo Valansi, Sebastian Lombardo, Canel Frichet, Juan Barberis, and David Bullón. The Eco Festival brought together our incredible community of inspired individuals! 🌟 150+ future residents, 110 adults and 40 little ones joined us to celebrate the vision of calling Ecovilla San Mateo home! This weekend was truly special as we hosted the festival at our new Ecovilla location. Attendees left feeling energized and inspired by the experience. The event featured: - Talks and panels from our founders, local sustainable service providers, and La Ecovilla Original residents. - Shared meals generously provided by a resident. - Activities from our Social Lab, fostering community building. - Serene moments like sound baths and ceremonies around sacred fires. There were countless connections and growth among members meeting in person for the first time. What touched us deeply was the richness and diversity of our shared journey towards a more sustainable, interconnected world. The care and attention given to collective intelligence were truly remarkable. The closing ceremony was a poignant moment, uniting us in song and reflection on all that transpired. In a changing world, youth are the key to building a more sustainable and just future. The objective of the #ZeroinCondotta project is to provide the new generations with the tools to understand climate change and to become promoters of concrete actions in their communities. Through educational paths and innovative initiatives, we involve schools, local authorities and citizens, creating a network to raise awareness of the need to act now for our planet. PuntoSud trains civil society organisations (CSOs) and transforms ideas into concrete projects that inspire active participation. I had a amazing time tonight attending Carlow University’s Impact Series event for environmental sustainability! Many important questions were brought to light and the panel of experts delivered in gold. Moderator and Carlow’s President, Dr. Kathy Humphrey, posed one of two of my favorite questions of the evening: “In the face of global environmental challenges, how can we foster a sense of shared responsibility and collective action among governments, businesses, civil society organizations, and individuals?” The overview of in depth answers I was able to note from the panel highlighted: 🔸Encouraging transparency 🔸Setting clear goals with a singular focus 🔸Providing meaningful incentives for actionable sustainability practices 🔸Promoting public awareness campaigns 🔸Ensuring accountability on every possible level of society Another great question posed also highlighted: “What role can technology and innovation play in addressing environmental challenges, and how can we ensure that technological solutions are accessible and affordable for all communities?” John Fernández - Global climate change expert, MIT Professor and Director of the Urban Metabolism Group highlighted aspects of quantum computing and its ability to provide efficient solutions for complex problems to help facilitate tasks such as optimizing energy consumption, simulating molecular structures for new materials development, enhancing weather forecasting accuracy, and improving logistics to reduce carbon footprints. He also mentions the importance of decarbonizing steel production, which involves reducing or eliminating carbon emissions from the steel manufacturing process to combat climate change and promote sustainability. Although not everyone is concerned with the sustainability of our world for generations to come, these crucial steps are among many that need more attention on the local, state and world wide level of conversation in achieving this collective action for a sustainable future! Kudos to everyone who attended the event in support of a better future. We are but one step closer! What are your thoughts on these visionary perspectives?

To mark this year’s Global Goals Week, we’re celebrating the Sustainable Development Goals by spotlighting some of our #THPLANET projects all week long. For day 2 we are highlighting SDG 11… 🏙️SDG 11 is Sustainable Cities and Communities: This goal addresses critical challenges like urbanisation, environmental sustainability, and ensuring that infrastructure is accessible to all, while reducing the environmental impact of cities. 🚉 The CIÉ - Córas Iompair Éireann Youth Board project gives young people a platform to reimagine how public transport can serve diverse communities and reduce carbon emissions in villages, towns and cities across Ireland. The Youth Board creates space for young people to voice their ideas, insights, and aspirations for the future of Ireland's transport systems - striving for better connectivity and accessibility while promoting environmentally-friendly travel options, and encouraging a switch from private transport (cars) to public transport. It brings together young, passionate voices from across Ireland to help shape the future of public transport, ensuring that the next generation plays an active role in re-imagining our transport system as a sustainable and inclusive mobility system for all. 💬 We recently hosted our first Youth Board session, where members met with the CEOs of Dublin Bus (Bus Átha Cliath) Billy Hann , Iarnród Éireann Irish Rail Jim Meade, Bus Éireann Stephen Kent and CIÉ Lorcan O'Connor; the newly elected Chair of the CIÉ Board Aidan Murphy and the sustainability team. This session kickstarted their role in bringing fresh and transformative ideas from young people to help CIÉ and embrace long-view leadership. Together, we discussed how we can improve public transportation systems in ways that are equitable and sustainable. We look forward to the brilliant ideas and projects that will emerge from this new collaboration with youth participation at its core. #CIEYouthBoard #SustainableTransport #FutureOfMobility #YouthEmpowerment #THPLANET #ClimateAction #PublicTransportTransformation #SDGsIrl Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications #GlobalGoalsWeek #GlobalGoals #EveryJourneyCounts

Looking forward to attending my first Diversify Nordics Summit on the 27th of September in Oslo. I'll be facilitating this panel with three fantastic participants: Whose Story is it Anyway? Reclaiming Mainstream Narratives. Participants: Anne Lajla Utsi, Ritika Wadhwa and Henri Terho. "The discussion that follows will challenge us to confront the power dynamics that shape whose voices are amplified and whose stories are silenced. In a world where narrative sovereignty is increasingly contested, we must ask: Who controls the stories that define our culture, history, and future, and what are the consequences of this control? As narratives around critical issues like the energy transition are crafted, whose perspectives are being highlighted, and whose are overlooked? This discussion will explore the intersection of activism and artivism, questioning how the stories that drive social and environmental change are selected and who benefits from their telling. Moreover, the conversation will explore the often-hidden power structures behind storytelling—who receives the funding and resources to tell their stories, and how does this influence which narratives become mainstream? In a media landscape dominated by gatekeepers, how can marginalized voices reclaim their narratives and challenge the status quo? This panel pushes us to examine the role of power in storytelling, asking whether true narrative sovereignty is possible in a system where economic and political interests often dictate whose stories are told and heard."
📢 Announcing our next speaker for Diversify Nordics Summit (DNS) 2024: @Julie Forchhammar (She/Her), Co-founder of Klimakultur 🎤✨ Julie Forchhammer is the co-founder of Klimakultur, a Norwegian non-profit founded in 2021 in the mountains in Vang in Valdres. Klimakultur mobilizes the culture sector on how to take action on climate change and implement climate justice. Working in Norway where the fossil fuel industry is present in every aspect of society, Julie is passionate about using the art and culture sector to create spaces for reflections on topics that are often not that easily discussed here. As she says: “The fossil fuel industry are masters of PR, with unlimited resources to influence the public debate and delay climate action. Artists and culture workers may not always be well financed but we also have one unlimited and renewable resource: The power to be brave and tell the truth.” Join us to listen to Julie and our other speakers on September 27, 2024, in the heart of Oslo. 🎟️Book your tickets here: https://lnkd.in/e-Z5Q9CD 💡You can check our list of speakers on our website: https://lnkd.in/dugTHT74 Corporate Partners: Amazon Web Services (AWS),EY, Google, Expedia Group, Berlitz Norway, Alda, HiBob, The Coca-Cola Company Norway Collaboration Partners: deidei, RFSL utbildning, WomenTechIceland, Oslo Innovation Week, Oslo Business Region, Nordic Women in Tech Awards, Klimakultur, Iceland Innovation Week, Welcome to Oslo- Oslo kommune Supported by Robert Bosch Stiftung, Centric Advisory, Ada Ventures, BMW Foundation Herbert Quandt #DiversifyNordics #Conference #Diversify #Leadership #Sustainability #Inclusion #PeopleAndCulture
