How you can help hedgehogs! 🦔 🐾
Spring is here in Cornwall and most hedgehogs are awake from hibernation so here is a quick guide on what you can do to help them…
🐾 Create a hog hole or hedgehog highway so they can access your garden
💦 Put out a shallow dish of water
🍃 Check the area carefully for hedgehogs before carrying out any garden works such as strimming
🏠 Create a shelter or nest box - they are used year round, not just for hibernation
🐶 Check the garden after dark before letting dogs out if you regularly see hedgehogs, or take the dog out on a lead
🚙 Take care when driving after dark, hedgehogs will often walk along quiet roads and verges
🌱 Let areas grow wild along garden boarders and look at plants that attract insects and bug life
🔥 Move bonfires on the day of lighting to ensure no hedgehogs are nesting within it
🐸 Make ponds safe by adding a ramp or easy exit for hedgehogs, they are good swimmers but need a gradual slope to exit
💸 Support your local rescue, donate, share and engage with their social media or volunteer
Please share and help raise awareness. Hedgehogs are classed as VULNERABLE TO EXTINCTION, we need to act now 🫶🦔🐾

🌱 Growing Together: A Community Impact CSR Project 🌱
Earlier this year, as part of a larger event our visiting client asked us to design a corporate social responsibility program focused on meaningful community impact in Halifax, where their conference was being held. The housing crisis in our province is something we would love to see solved and it’s at the top of the list of things we consider to be the most important at issue to tackle.
And so, we approached Out of the Cold, a low-barrier shelter serving the Halifax and Dartmouth areas, to discuss their needs and how we could help. Together we decided on a gardening project to restore their raised vegetable gardens at both their Halifax and Dartmouth locations.
The gardens, many of which were damaged by snow plows over the winter, are vital in supplying fresh produce to the shelter’s kitchens, providing healthier meals for residents. With help from Halifax Seed Company Inc, who generously donated their expertise and countless hours of support, we set out to rebuild the destroyed garden beds and beautify the space with flower boxes.
On CSR day, the conference attendees split into teams and worked across both sites to plant vegetables and flowers, clean up the sites, set up donated items like a BBQ and rain barrels and water hoses, and put together personalized gift bags for every resident.
This collaborative project fostered teamwork and a strong connection to the local community.
The initiative was more than just a gardening project—it was about making a lasting, positive impact on the lives of local residents.
The feedback we received post-event was incredible, with attendees saying things like, “It was a very humbling experience,” and “I would love to do something like this in every city we visit.”

Hey Neighbours! 🏡 Just thinking about a recent task that brought new light—literally! 🌟 Last week we tackled some overgrown trees blocking a neighbour's window. With determination and the right tools, we opened up the view.
🪚 As we progressed, the thoughtful neighbour brought out a refreshing cold drink halfway through. 🥤
Your support and appreciation fuel these projects, making every task a shared achievement. 🙌
💚 Always Donation-Based:
Since the beginning, We've operated on a donation basis. Neighbours decide what to pay, making our services accessible to all. It's not just about the tasks; it's about building connections, spreading love, and creating a positive ripple effect in the community. 🌟
If you are in the Ipswich or the surrounding areas and would like some help with any gardening/pressure washing, video editing, videography, anything else in our skill set - drop me a line, So whilst we recommend £15 - 25 an hour - You pay what you can afford and what you think the job we've done is worth.
if at the end of the task, you don’t think we've done a good job, no expectation of donation at all.
Thank you.

Let's keep the positive transformations going! 🌳🌼 #CommunityConnections#GardenTransformation#NeighbourhoodSupport
For those of you who don't know the journey so far:
Just under a year ago, at the age of 22, I left my night shifts at the warehouse, embarking on a journey with no savings but an earnest desire to create a meaningful impact in my community while forging my own path in life.
Starting with simple gestures like offering free bin cleanings, I found myself diving into gardening. Armed with only bare hands and a plastic bag, I weeded and tended to gardens, with neighbours generously contributing tools and support.
This transformative journey saw the growth of both my skills and toolset, from weeding to tackling diverse gardening tasks, pressure washing, painting, video editing, and learning gutter clearing. Gutter clearing was made possible by the neighbours lending me their ladders to use whilst doing their gutters.
From humble beginnings of walking around, to a bike and a bag, to now cruising on an electric bike with a double child trailer, my progress is evident. While a van could be in the picture had I cut down on expenses, I have no regrets. This adventure into self-employment has allowed me to give back to the community, making a living in ways I never imagined.
