Happy Pride Month from all of us at The West Group Limited! 🌈 At The West Group, we believe in fostering a workplace where everyone feels valued and included. This Pride Month, we’re especially proud to celebrate the diverse community that makes up our incredible team. During our recent ‘All Hands’ meeting, we took the opportunity to start the process of re-defining our company values. We asked everyone at TWG to vote on the values that resonate most with them, and the results included two key themes: Team and Inclusivity. Team: Our strength lies in our unity. We are a diverse group of individuals, each bringing unique perspectives and talents. Together, we create an environment where collaboration and mutual support drive our success. Inclusivity: We are committed to ensuring that every team member feels seen, heard, and respected. Inclusivity should be a practice we uphold every day, fostering a culture where everyone can thrive. Inclusion…you belong here. As a new employee at GDE you get to look forward to your very own welcome committee, that I like to call the Welcome Wagon. We no longer are sending a brand new employee into the workforce without a first friend on day 1. Someone you can ask questions when you need to or talk about how your time has been. They are typically outside of your department so there is cross over and no longer an us and them. Inclusion looks different for each company because there are no two companies a like. Sense of belonging is something I've struggled with in the past, and whenever I try to belong, my mind travels to negative ideas about if I'm enough for what I've accomplished. Am I good enough in my job? Do I belong here? Those are examples of how my mind and self-awareness mess with me at times, but I'm relieved to know that I can be vulnerable while also working on self-awareness and belonging. Profiles of employees that can kill the business and destroy the good team spirit, hence they must be fired as soon as they are detected. 1-Toxic team member. 2-Liar. 3-Cheater. 4-Thief. 5-Gossip and trouble makers between colleagues. Personal character in enterprise environments is more important than skills. As the second one we can always teach them through cross training and skills transfer however the first either we have them or we don’t. We believe in chances equality in our company and we give a chance to everyone but if a person doesn’t match with our culture or doesn’t want to adhere to our vision, we will continue our way without him/her.
