Professional tennis could consider tennis fans in its reorganisation. It is fans who end up paying broadcasting rights, buy tkts, purchase merchandise, and consume the brands of the tour's and players' sponsors. Other than the 4 Grand Slams, tennis is difficult to follow (how the different tournament levels - 1000's, 500's, 250's - are calendarised remains a mystery), not to mention the point ranking system. Keep it simple. #justsayin #brandstrategy #sportsmgt

Five Important Questions to Address About Your Tennis Facility That Directly Impact First Impressions: 1) Is Your Facility Clean? There's no greater turn off and negative impression than seeing tennis courts that have leaves, used cups or other items left on the courts. Facilities lacking cleanliness instantly conveys the impression that the tennis programs doesn't take pride in their facility. 2) Is Your Staff Welcoming And Friendly? How tennis players are initially greeted, positively or negatively, makes a huge first impression that can help or hurt your tennis program. 3) Are Your Courts Well-Maintained? Seeing windscreens blowing in the wind, court number signs dangling on the fence, or courts that haven't been swept creates a negative impression of your facility that is difficult to overcome. To the contrary, seeing courts that are well-maintained creates a positive impression that will go a long way! 4) Do Your Courts Effectively Promote Your Brand And Possess A Home Court Advantage? There's some facilities you can instantly see the professional look and feel the pride in their program the moment you walk on the court. However, with some facilities, you wouldn't know the name of the school, club or tennis center unless someone tells you. 5) Do Your Courts Tell A Story About The History And Tradition Of Your Program? If your tennis program has been around for any amount of time, there's individuals (coaches, players, donors) who have made a positive and lasting impact on your program. How are you effectively recognizing these individuals and telling your story about your program that is unique to any other, and paying tribute to memorable tournaments and events that took place at your facility? If your tennis program or facility is new, how are your effectively recognizing the individuals (donors, coaches) who helped make the program or facility possible? Couple things…. We took a drive around Charleston yesterday on the hunt for unused tennis courts, just to see how many we could find. We found them. A few managed by the city and random courts in surrounding neighborhoods. More convinced than ever this is happening way beyond our area, absolutely across the country. It’s truly disheartening for our sport. According to the 2024Tennis Industry Association participation report, 42% of tennis players in America use public parks? YOU READ CORRECTLY - It’s not the member-only clubs or fancy facilities that host the most players; it’s our public parks. July is Parks and Rec Month. WHY do these courts look like this, just sitting here, empty and forgotten? If we don’t breathe life back into them, tennis is missing a huge opportunity to expand in communities. And we’re certainly not making it to (USTA) United States Tennis Association initiative to grow to 35 million players by 2035. 🎾To the tennis players complaining about pickleball players taking over tennis courts. WHERE ARE YOU? Honestly, if the courts aren’t being used, it’s no wonder they’re being repurposed. This is a wake-up call to us. Get out and start using these courts before they disappear for good. 🎾Parks and Rec, WHERE ARE YOU? We need you to allow organized adult and junior programming by professionals who know how to grow and manage. These courts need maintenance, promotion, and a lot of love to make them alive again. It’s kind of puzzling, isn’t it? We have thousands of courts available, yet they remain empty. Are we really okay with allowing them to be converted or worse, letting them go to waste? No, no and no. Unacceptable. I started my tennis career teaching on parks and rec courts over 15 years ago, this hits home. #tennis #parksandrec #wearetennis #courtrescue #grassroots

Fined for playing Pickleball on tennis courts? We get it, these courts are designed for a specific sport. Do we blame them? No. Sounds drastic maybe but these P ballers want to play and with 900 members is this particular area, to them it’s justifiable. And these are not the only tennis courts around the country sitting unused and desolate. TWO QUESTIONS: Why are these tennis courts bare/available? Where is the tennis programming? ✅A gap exists between the leading tennis organizations and the real world as these questions cannot be answered. Our company can bridge this gap.
