In block printing, engraved wooden blocks are stamped onto the fabric. Have you heard of the 60-30-10 rule in interior design? 🎨 Let's break down this simple yet effective principle: 🔹 60% Dominant Color: Select a dominant color that forms the foundation of your design scheme. This color will encompass the majority of your space, including walls, large furniture pieces, and flooring. It sets the overall mood and serves as a unifying element throughout the room. 🔸 30% Secondary Color: Choose a secondary color to complement your dominant hue. This color should be used for upholstery, curtains, rugs, and accent furniture. It adds depth and visual interest to the space, creating a harmonious balance with the dominant color. 🔹 10% Accent Color: Introduce accent colors to inject personality and character into your design. These pops of color can be incorporated through throw pillows, artwork, decorative accessories, or small furniture pieces. The accent color adds vibrancy and focal points, drawing the eye and tying the entire room together. How many design decisions do you think there are in any given space? Let’s use a powder room in this case. 1) Type of flooring - Tile? Wood? LVP? Etc. 2) Wall coverings - Paint? Wallpaper? Tile? Multiple? 3) Type of vanity 4) Color of vanity 5) Type of Sink 6) Type of backsplash - Tile? Vanity side? Etc. 7) Style of plumbing fixtures 8) Color of plumbing fixtures 9) Type of lighting - Pendant? Sconce? Vanity? 10) Style of lighting 11) Size of mirror 12) Style of mirror 13) Color of mirror 14) Style of bathroom fixtures 15) Color of bathroom fixtures 16) Ensuring every decision coordinates with all the other decisions. Overwhelmed yet? Imagine how many decisions there are in a bigger space. Thanks to HGTV and similar channels a large percentage of the public think they can put these together. Some can, but a lot can’t. An Interior Designer feels like an unnecessary expenditure to some, but I would argue it’s an invaluable expenditure.

Good interiors start with good materials! And as designers.. we have done a fair share of material picking while staying in the interior business. Here are some quick tips to help you pick plywood that can last for a little bit longer: 1. Look closely: Avoid cracks and gaps. Check those edges—poor plies are a no-go. 2. Check the mark: No ISI mark? No deal. This little symbol means it's passed the test. 3. Layer it on: More layers = more strength + better quality. Go for the thicker plywood, always. 4. Check certifications: ISO and FSC marks show you’re picking responsibly sourced, quality plywood. We keep sharing interior tips once in a while. Is it time to strip your dated home design and start all over with a blank new canvas? There’s no better place to start than with a fresh coat of white paint. White is one of the most popular choices of paint color; however, it is often misused, resulting in a boring, cold space. Use our tips to make sure you use white the right way. 1) Use white in a colorful room to give the eye a place to rest. White is the perfect compliment to loud, busy patterns or themes. 2) White walls recede in a room with harsh, natural accents like dark wood floors. Prevent your room from becoming too dark or overbearing by instituting a white background. 3) When your room is mostly white, every element becomes sculptural. Have fun with artsy, modern accessories to add flavor to your newly made-over space 4) White makes utilitarian objects like pipes and air ducts less prominent. Soften rough elements and help them blend in with their surroundings by painting everything white. 5) A classic trick in interior design is using white in tight quarters. The crisp, clean color will instantly make your small area appear more spacious and airy. 6) Give your kitchen a classic cottage charm by adding a base of white walls and cabinetry. A white kitchen forces the eye to focus on details like colorful accents, back splashes and appliances.
