PA Workers Comp - Unique Rules #1 When the phraseology of a classification reads "all employees including office" such as by (957), then an accountant, bookkeeper, coordinator or any other office job would not be classified as (953). They would all be included in the governing classification even if they work from a different location. Now PA has a unique staffing class code system, where you add a 2 prior to the three digit classification, in most instances, when those working at the company are from a staffing agency. And this is where PA is unique. Temporary clerical staff is assigned to (2953), and this is regardless of the client's applicable direct employment classification. So if a staffing agency is providing a payroll person or other office position for a Doctor's office, the correct code for that temporary employee is not (2957), correct code is (2953). In most other states, where Doctor's offices are classified as (8832) & Clerical, a staffing employee doing clerical work for them would remain classified as (8832).

Hiring challenges continue to ease Recruitment became somewhat easier in March, according to the latest data from Jobs & Skills Australia. In March, 46% of employers recruiting workers experienced recruitment difficulty. This was down 4 percentage points from the previous month. Small businesses with five to 19 employees had more difficulty with 55% of respondents reporting challenges in recruiting, compared to 38% of larger businesses. Last year, recruitment difficulty trended mostly downwards so this decrease continues the trend. Recruitment difficulty peaked in July 2022 at 75%. #accountant #bookkeeping #business
