The dream – founding Jadepoint 3 years ago – was the simple part.
The pandemic put everything in perspective. It became abundantly clear that my passionate purpose --- enabling an organization to thrive --- aligned with my personal values and the auspicious timing of an incredible team open to making it happen together.
Continuing Jadepoint’s journey after the initial ‘honeymoon phase’ was the challenge.
Like raising a tiny infant from birth, I was often alert in the middle of the night wondering:
--------is the baby still breathing? is my nourishment enough for him to grow? if only he could tell me what he wants!
As the ‘baby’ ventured to crawl and communicate:
-----I heard: ‘no, no, no’ when all I wished for him to utter was ‘yes!’.
--------And I realized, like a true parent, that I would do anything in my power to protect his light from being extinguished by the world.
Every soul deserves a chance to burn bright and warm all he touches.
So day-by-day, inch-by-inch, fall after fall, and wobbly standing again, we kept going and reached this significant milestone. Three years old. Three years in business and entering our 4th operating year. (Does that mean the ‘terrible twos’ are over??!) 😊
Dreaming big feels amazing.
Imagining what is possible, free from constraint, and in ideal conditions is liberating.
However, it’s acting on the dream, taking steps every day– especially in the total darkness when the path is daunting, unchartered, and definitely uncertain – that is bold and courageous.
Ironically, my challenge is the same quest that our clients face. Yet on steroids. Our clients are industry-trendsetter leaders with thousands of people’s lives affected by their decisions.
Their great ideas and dreams are not enough to make an impact. When motivation dissolves, intentional consistent habits pave the way. Shared vision and teamwork grow impact exponentially. Together as partners, we encourage each other to be bold. We venture into the uncomfortable, take action, keep going, be compassionate, and celebrate when our wildest dreams come true.
Do you know what is surprising when those powerful dreams come true?
They are not the achievement of metrics.
Dream fulfillment is micro memorable moments: the leaders ‘ah-ha’ faces during a workshop; the laughter of the Jadepoint team during a jam session; creativity witnessed and experienced by another human. It's the moment each one of us realizes that we’ve made a ripple of impact on someone’s life. Such that they feel seen, valued, uplifted, and pride in their growth.
That is the magical moment when the light burns so bright, it seems inconceivable that we ever struggled to get here.
