Are you looking to fill a position in your company? Don't rush the hiring process! According to the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC), 1 in 3 hiring mistakes happen because businesses try to fill a position too quickly. As a hiring manager, I've seen this happen time and time again. We often jump to the job description without properly clarifying what success looks like in the role. Check out our pre-hiring checklist to ensure that you have a clear plan in place. Remember, a little extra time spent at the beginning of the process can save a lot of time and headaches in the long run. https://lnkd.in/eBMdQsGG #hiring

📣 A tip for those who are hiring! Is it possible that your job descriptions are keeping you from seeing "the right" talent? While it's certainly your prerogative to want what you want, you may just want to take a look at your job descriptions. Too often, we learn that not ALL experience listed as Required is really Required. Sometimes, the BEST candidates may not have all the experience. You may be missing out on some great potential talent. Just something to think about! 🤔 #jobdescriptions #jobdescription #talentacquisition #recruiting #staffing #jobopenings

Advice to hiring managers: randomize your applicant review! I've hired for many roles over the years and found that the best candidates weren't always the first to apply. They were often engaged in other interesting activities, pursuing development opportunities, or even working elsewhere while seeking new challenges. Remember- amazing and motivated people may not always be the quickest applicants. Seek excellence beyond the immediate submissions. #hiring #recruiting #talent

Recruiter: Did the hiring manager talk you through the role? Candidate: Not really, they asked me some questions and had to rush off. Recruiter: *sigh* Hiring managers - you have to sell the opportunity too! It isn't just a one-way street anymore. We get it. You are extremely busy and the allocated time isn't always enough. But rushing off a call without selling the opportunity to the candidate will only cost your more time. Because you will likely lose out to your competitor. A salary uplift is no longer enough to convince someone to join. Candidates are asking us for: ➤More innovative project scope ➤Progression opportunities ➤Collaborative work environments ➤Flexible work arrangements If you are not discussing the above with the candidates interviewing - you will be missing out on top talent.

Running Recruiter Quick Tip: The hiring process post-COVID has changed. Hey Hiring Managers! Once you’re ready to bring someone on board, expect to be introduced to serious and motivated candidates. Many of them have already pondered the idea and now they are ready to pull the trigger. Stalling out now is the quickest way to lose a great candidate. Hey Candidates! If we pre-qualify and introduce you to our client, the hiring process may move more quickly than you expect. There are always exceptions, but keep in mind our search is activated when our clients are ready to grow the team. Great communication and follow-up skills are noted and appreciated! #ACTIONRecruiting #RecruiterTip #PowersportsCareers #MotorcycleJobs #CareerTransformations #RunningRecruiter #ExecutiveSearch #CSuiteTalentSearch

In a period of 6 months I’ve had not one, but three companies interview me for an “open role” and then a few weeks later after waiting for an update let me know that they are choosing to go a different direction and are choosing not to hire for that role anymore. 1. This is super discouraging for candidates 2. It just looks bad on that company because it shows they don’t think things through. 3. It’s a waste of time for both parties. This just needs to stop. Companies need to do better and post positions only when they know 100% they’re going to go through with the hiring process for that role. It’s honestly just heartbreaking for us. We get our hopes up, we get excited and then nada 😑 Who else has experience this in their job seeking journey and what are your thoughts? #jobseekerexperiences #jobseekers #interviewprocess #hiringprocess #recruiters

Attention: Recruiters & Hiring Managers. You MUST hire one of the 2 following candidates. They are totally identical except for one thing. Person A (Quitter) Quit their last job. Person B (Violator) was fired from their last job. You must choose one based on this question alone: would I prefer to hire someone who quit their job or someone who was fired from their job? —— Bonus Points for telling us about a time you had to “quit” a job or were “fired” from a job and how you bounced back into your next opportunity. #HiringManagers #Recruiters
