Does a multiple product line OFS company have a better chance of winning work in the US than a one-service company? Not really, although it sort of helps if you are Halliburton selling cementing services to the majors.
In US Land HAL has 29% of the cementing market and 23% of the frac market.
But if HAL is providing the CEMENT to an operator, almost 50% of the time that operator will also hire HAL for FRAC.
However, this relationship does not hold true in reverse. If HAL is the FRAC service provider for an operator, 30% of the time they also provide CEMENT.
So if HAL is providing CEMENT to a customer, they double their chances of also getting the FRAC work. But if HAL is providing the FRAC work for a customer, there is no apparent pull through for CEMENT.
As my team has always said, in the US it doesn't hurt to have multiple product OFS lines...but it doesn't help much either.
