We were honored to be selected to represent our industry at last week's 2024 State of the Media Report panel discussion hosted by Fifth Ring and PR Newswire. ABS Group's Kim Dahlberg, Communications Manager, joined her esteemed peers and communication leaders in the global energy and maritime sectors to analyze Cision's annual report and discuss their perspectives on the evolving media landscape. Echoing the event's theme of uniting voices for amplified strength, we were delighted to also have in attendance Jennifer Rudolph Mire, External Communications Manager, representing our parent company American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). A special acknowledgment to our co-panelists Diana Smith, Deon Daugherty and Karina Brooks for their insights. Thank you, Todd Gregory- ENFJ-A (connector / pioneer)😎 with Fifth Ring and Danielle Goad with PR Newswire, for hosting such an enriching event!

I help leadership at creative agencies to nurture and retain top talent | Communications trainer | Senior PR professional | Executive coach
The pandemic was a period i’d perhaps rather not go through again. It seems that no matter where you were in life - professionally, personally or geographically - it was challenging, in a myriad of ways. March 2020, one particular thing I thought was royally stuffed was my business. But actually, I was wrong. With a little bravery, adaptation, learning of new skills, a confident client and proper feet first approach I slightly changed what I did and started delivering training online. Who knew Zoom could, pretty much, save your life? I sat down with Paul Essery on his Tech Business Connected podcast to talk all things communications, training, tech and how quick thinking during the pandemic meant my business could survive. Full story in the podcast below 👇🏼 Interestingly, 90% of clients want training face to face, again. Virtual is good to have, solves problems, but what can actually beat being in a room with other people? #agencylife #commstraining #tech #LearningAndDevelopment #podcast
Paul Essery talks with Isobel Camier CEO of Camier Communications about how she used technology to reinvent her communications training business during COVID. https://lnkd.in/eufRYRbR

We wanted to do a predictions document with a difference at York Park Group, so leaning into the expertise of our senior leaders, we've written 4 pieces of what to prepare for in 2024. From my perspective, I think 2024 is a year where government's can shift from a traditional perspective of doing the expected jobs of government (managing) and to expand from traditional influencing (essentially an earned media strategy) to replicating what happens in election campaigns. This is what the private sector does every day. Comms strategies that leverages socials and online through paid advertisements and posting - the manipulation and leveraging of the online world. I talk about it as managing and manipulation, something I think Daniel Andrews did very well. Interested in your thoughts.
2024 is set to be a pivotal year for leaders in government, business, and the broader community. The York Park Group team have taken a look at some key issues ahead from a public affairs and communications perspective. YPG Executive Chairman, Geoff Walsh AO, looks at the role of business in bringing communities together. Sean Sammon, YPG’s Managing Director, writes about how 2024 will lay the groundwork for our Federal Election in 2025. Evelyn Ek, YPG Partner - Strategic Communications, focuses on crisis communications – particularly cyber-related incidents – and the importance of language. And, Hugo Twopeny, YPG Senior Associate, has looked at how some things don’t – and shouldn’t – change, when it comes campaigns. We’d love to hear your thoughts on these and any other issues on your mind for the year ahead.
