Our April Guest blog comes from Moms in Motion Physical Therapy and we couldn't be more excited to feature them! Here's a little bit from the post: You’ve all been there - standing in a circle of your mom friends and someone makes a joke about peeing their pants? It’s easy to make light of things that feel a little embarrassing, but things like leaking pee are actually signs of pelvic floor dysfunction. You’ve probably heard the phrase “common but not normal”. A lot of pelvic floor dysfunction falls into this category, especially among the postpartum population. But the good news is that urinary incontinence is not something you have to live with forever. Along with many other pelvic floor symptoms. Pelvic floor physical therapy can help you regain control of your bladder and enjoy your life without the fear of accidents. So, what is pelvic floor physical therapy, and how does it work? When you become a mom, it’s easy to forget that you need to take time for yourself, too. Even if it’s just 5 minutes to scroll through social media or eat a snack you don’t want to share, mom’s should take time for themselves. 🌺 Lindsay, our pelvic floor physical therapist, likes to call these moments you take for yourself, mom minutes. It’s easy to say there’s not enough time in the day to remember yourself, but it’s important that you do. You are still a priority. You are still a person. You deserve a few minutes to yourself.🫶Take a deep breath and give yourself some mom minutes, and you’ll feel much better about conquering the rest of the day. 💪🌼 #asheville #ashevillenc #Run828 #828isgreat #AVL #momsofavl #NC #WNC #ashevillelocal #visitasheville #ashevilletrails #exploreasheville #AVLlocal #ashevillenorthcarolina #ashevillefit #ashevillelife #AVLfitness #ashevillehealth #ashevillewellness #backpain #kneepain #momminutes #828health #physicaltherapist #physicaltherapy #physicaltherapyclinic #physiotherapy #physiotherapist #ashevillestrong #avltoday

When it comes to treating strokes, timing is everything. At 47, Amanda Sparks experienced her second stroke in 10 years. As soon as her symptoms started showing, she and her husband knew it was a race against the clock. Thankfully, in less than five hours, our team at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center was able to remove the dangerous blood clot successfully. This amazing feat was made possible by technology and teamwork. By leveraging tech that rapidly sends information to doctors and constantly optimizes medical team coordination to minimize treatment time, our team at Novant Health was able to save every one of Amanda's brain cells. At Novant Health, we are always working to deploy the strategies and technology that support timely and effective care. We understand how scary these situations can be and want to bring you peace of mind as quickly as possible. #Healthcare #PatientExperience #DigitalTransformation #Innovation #StrokeAwarenessMonth
