You should always have triangles, only then you have passing options." - Johan Cruyff Positional play is not about possession, it's about position. Optimal positioning helps to gain positional superiority and gain an advantage over the opponent. Johan Cruyff developed a game model based on triangles: every player, regardless of his location on the pitch, had to position himself to form that geometric structure. He considered this to be the ideal base from which his team could conserve possession, always giving the ball carrier two passing options. Even better when both options are diagonal, diagonal passes are advantageous because they overload the vertical and horizontal lines and are therefore harder to counter. Unlike the vertical pass, the player receiving a diagonal pass is already facing the goal. It is important to note that although triangles and positional play are fundamental to Cruyff's philosophy, they are part of a wider system that requires intelligent movement, spatial awareness, technical competence and a deep understanding of the game. Players don't just form triangles for the sake of geometry; they do this to manipulate the opposition, create space and maintain control of the game.

HIGH LINE In this case below, we chose to advance the offensive line, different from applying intense and high pressure. We noticed that when we advance the lines to put pressure on the opponent, we make it difficult to build the game and the rival's evolution in the game. The highlight is our offensive line, which creates an excellent balance on the field, reducing free spaces and making it impossible for the opponent to advance our field with a combination of passes. We realized that each of our outstanding players on our offensive line can put pressure on 2 opponents, meaning that the opponent, even with numerical superiority, is unable to evolve in the construction of the game. It is important to remember that, for this work to be done with excellence, it is very important that all lines remain connected, avoiding free spaces between lines (GAPs), so that the opponent can explore and receive a pass with space.

(B11) Caro-Kann, Two Knights, 3...Bg4, 48 moves, 1/2-1/2 The game famously known as "Four Queens" between Bobby Fischer and Tigran Petrosian in the 1959 Candidates Tournament is a classic example of high-level chess intricacy. Played within the Caro-Kann Defense, specifically the Two Knights variation (B11), this match reached an unprecedented situation with four queens on the board. Despite this extraordinary scenario, the game ended in a draw after 48 moves, highlighting the tactical deadlock and strategic depth between the two grandmasters. The Caro-Kann Defense used in this game is renowned for its solid and defensive nature, which both players exploited to full effect. Fischer, playing as White, and Petrosian, as Black, navigated through complex positions and tactical skirmishes.
