I help hospitality leaders create wellness assets through my proven 7-step ESSENCE framework | #1 Best-selling author of The Wellness Asset | Wellness Business Coach
Wellness leaders, is it time to upgrade your game? Your wellness offering can create so much more impact on your guests’ wellbeing, profitability, community and environment. … if only you had the right support. Well, the first thing I want you to know is that you aren’t alone. There are many wellness leaders out there who are frustrated with the missed opportunity. I know. Because I’ve also walked in your shoes. And I, too, have felt despair at the missed opportunity. BUT Here is what I learned over the years: 1️⃣ The reason wellness isn’t taken seriously is because wellness does not have a track record of stellar performance in hotels. 2️⃣ More than 90% of hoteliers report only 1-3% of total hotel revenue in direct revenue from their spa and wellness facilities. 3️⃣ Many hoteliers actually DO believe in wellness. They want wellness to take their hospitality business to the next level - to differentiate themselves from their competitors. …But they just don’t know how. As a result, most hoteliers have wellness LIABILITIES instead of wellness ASSETS They are hesitant to fully invest because they have a wellness liability; they have bet on the ‘wrong horse’ (so to speak), and as a result are extra cautious with any new investments they aren’t fully confident to pitch to owners. That is why you feel: → your hotelier colleagues neglect their wellness offering. → you don't have the support you need. → sheer and utter frustration. → despair at the missed opportunity. It’s NOT because they don’t believe in wellness. They actually DO believe in wellness. They need their wellness leader to show them how to do wellness successfully. When we realise the reason behind the resistance to fully invest in wellness, we are able to understand our GM’s perspective. Question: 👉🏼 Want to learn how to create a profitable wellness asset? I help hospitality leaders create wellness assets through my proven 7-step ESSENCE framework | #1 Best-selling author of The Wellness Asset | Wellness Business Coach
🎉 🔊 Launching The Wellness Asset Academy! 🎉 🔊 It's the final countdown! I can't believe that in just 4 days' time (Monday 5th February 2024), I'll be going live with the round of my brand new online programme - The Wellness Asset Academy! In this first round, my 3 key messages to all wellness leaders in hospitality are: 1️⃣ If we feel that we're hospitality's lowest-paid specialist leader, then there's a reason for it. We aren't the 'victims' of this 'situation' that we think 'has happened' to us. We are, as harsh as might sound, the co-creators of it. 2️⃣ We wellness leaders have far more power over the success of our wellness offering than we can even imagine. Hiding behind our story of feeling like the most neglected department clouds our judgement. What if we stopped to think about the following? If our GMs hired us as the wellness leader in the first place, then surely, in some remote part of their mind, they DO believe in wellness (in some shape, way or form). 3️⃣ If we want something to change, then WE'RE going to have to change something. We really do have a choice (some tough love from my side): 👉 continue to do wellness the way we have always done (and stay at 1-3% of total hotel revenue - and hence continue our ageold complaints), OR 👉 take ownership and really take wellness to the next level - that 30-40% of total hotel revenue. Because honestly, there's nothing stopping us to get there. What is clear, nothing changes if nothing changes. Period. If you are wellness leader who is tired of doing things the way they have always been done; you're frustrated of making the same mistakes over and over, but you're determined to change things and truly make wellness wildy successful, then join me in my LAST live masterclass tomorrow, Friday 2nd February 2024 at 9:30am Central European Time. I help hospitality leaders create wellness assets through my proven 7-step ESSENCE framework | #1 Best-selling author of The Wellness Asset | Wellness Business Coach
Many hotel wellness offerings focus on quick fixes. Think about it: 👉🏼 A massage to relieve a sore back. 👉🏼 A facial to brighten the skin. It’s what most wellness businesses do—offer temporary relief. And sure, guests feel better for a while. Who doesn’t feel great after a massage? But here’s the problem: we’re only scratching the surface. ▶ Physical discomfort often points to deeper lifestyle issues. ◀ When we focus on quick fixes (the symptoms), we build short-term relationships. ↳ Guests come and go without ever truly connecting with our teams or our offerings. But what if we shifted our focus? When we help guests tackle the root cause of their pain (the stressful job, the sedentary lifestyle that causes back pain, etc.), something powerful happens. They: ↳ stay longer. ↳ trust our team more. ↳ start to feel heard, supported, and truly cared for. That’s when we build real, lasting connections—when guests feel held by us, not just treated by us. The longer they stay, the better they feel. And the better they feel, the more invested they become—not just in their wellbeing, but in the experience we offer. ⭐ Bonus: Everyone benefits: ✅ guests feel seen. ✅ hotel increases revenue. ✅ teams form meaningful relationships. Question: 👉🏼 Are you offering quick fixes or building long-term relationships? ____ Want to learn how to build trust and long-term relationships? → Join the 1% of wellness leaders transforming their wellness offerings and sign up for the Wellness Asset Academy. → Enrollment closes soon. → Link to sign up here 👉🏼 https://lnkd.in/dyb4a7qf

I help hospitality leaders create wellness assets through my proven 7-step ESSENCE framework | #1 Best-selling author of The Wellness Asset | Wellness Business Coach
Why do I do what I do? And why wellness in hospitality? No other intersection of two industries has such a positive impact: 👉🏼 allowing guests into your home 👉🏼 discovering new cultures, food, and healing traditions 👉🏼 experiencing new realities. When we consider wellness within all our guest experiences… That’s when the magic happens: 👉🏼 The delicious glass of Rioja wine. 👉🏼 The Ayurvedic massage to release tensions. 👉🏼 The vineyard to practice Hatha yoga in. 👉🏼 The healthy breakfast tailored to the taste of each guest. 👉🏼 The chance to laze around and do nothing while your children are in a painting workshop… Each of these small details contributes to our guests’ wellbeing. Making them feel refreshed, energised, and putting their worries into perspective so they can lead more fulfilling lives. And that’s what fuels my work: 📌 I want to show that wellness makes business sense – even to the sceptical wellness & hospitality professionals. 📌 I want to create a tribe of audacious leaders who leave a legacy for future generations. 📌 I want to join leaders who are invested in enhancing the wellbeing of their community, guests, staff, and environment. Together with this tribe, I want to take wellness and hospitality to a higher dimension that no two sectors can achieve. Above all, I believe wellness is for everyone. When I was growing up, people didn’t have to leave home to find it. Today, it should be a toolkit available to all our guests walking through the door. Question: 👉🏼 Why do you do what you do? I'd love to know. Share your story in the comments section below.

I help hospitality leaders create wellness assets through my proven 7-step ESSENCE framework | #1 Best-selling author of The Wellness Asset | Wellness Business Coach
My key learnings over the years that changed the course of my life and trajectory in the wellness in hospitality space? Here are my 7 key learnings: 1️⃣ If you don’t have the RIGHT wellness concept (that “asset”) from the get go, no matter what you do, or how grand your facilities or great your team, it will never work. 2️⃣ There are two sides to a successful wellness concept (that “asset”): a) what you as a wellness expert/ business wants to offer; b) what your guests as consumers of the services want to consume. 3️⃣ It’s never the WHAT that differentiates you; it’s always the HOW. People forget WHAT you told them, but they don't forget HOW you made them feel. 4️⃣ You don’t get extraordinary results with super talented teams. You deliver extraordinary experiences with ‘ordinary' talent who is able and willing to do 'extraordinary’ work. 5️⃣ No matter how grand your facilites, great your team or fancy your brand, you’ll never nail your concept the first time round; you’ll always have to fine-tune in the market. 6️⃣ If you want your teams to be successful, you must set them up for success - help them prevent those glitches in service. 7️⃣ The true measure of your wellness offering’s success is how memorable and shareable it is. I've distilled these insights into my ESSENCE model, a proven 7-step framework enabling you to create the RIGHT wellness concept - your property's unique 'asset' - regardless of your hotel's type, size, or segment. Question: 👉🏼 What are your key learnings? I'd love to hear what has worked for you. PS: Don't forget to sign up for the free masterclasses I'll be hosting over the next few days. I help hospitality leaders create wellness assets through my proven 7-step ESSENCE framework | #1 Best-selling author of The Wellness Asset | Wellness Business Coach
HARSH TRUTH: Wellness takes time, resilience, and the right strategy. As a small hotel owner you want happy guests, a committed team, and a positive contribution to your destination. But you’re not confident on how to communicate your vision and make it a reality. As a result, you struggle to build a commercially sustainable business. 📌 Does this sound familiar? → All your money is spent on expensive wellness consultants and architects to barely see noticeable results. → You wonder whether all these people are necessary when you’re the one who has the vision and needs to do the heavy lifting. → The continuous stress of keeping up with the latest trends, the cutting-edge technology. → The dilemma whether to spend your money on wellness facilities that are costly to run but don’t generate any tangible impact on your guests or community's wellbeing. → The financial strain of balancing short-term cost increases versus long-term benefits of doing things right. 📌 So what’s missing? You miss one or more of these 3 key ingredients to make this impact: 1️⃣ Certainty of purpose → Clarity on your “why”. Why do you do what you do? Who do you want to serve? What does it mean to be true to your destination? → When you are certain about your purpose, you transition from chaos to clarity. → You no longer feel anchorless. 2️⃣ Discipline of focus → Creating the vision is only half the battle; maintaining it requires discipline. → Fix what isn’t working rather than abandoning the entire concept. → This will help you go from being capricious to keeping steadfast. 3️⃣ Seal of difference → It’s not what you do but how you do hospitality that sets you apart from the hotel next door. → Make your hotel a timeless landmark in your region → so you don’t become vanilla and get lost in the sea of sameness. With certainty of purpose, disciplined focus, and your unique seal of difference, you become a steward of responsible hospitality. ____ 🎓 Want to make a positive impact? If you're an owner of a small independent hotel and desire to turn your hotel into a landmark within your destination, join my Asset Builder mentorship programme. → Limited spots are available. → Link in the comments section 👇🏽.

I help hospitality leaders create wellness assets through my proven 7-step ESSENCE framework | #1 Best-selling author of The Wellness Asset | Wellness Business Coach
🤔 The biggest myth around the right, most profitable wellness concept? 🤔 That you'll nail it the first time round. And that simply is not true. No business or expert out there nails anything on the first attempt. The problem is that when the reality of the flash new concept kicks in, and we start seeing the rough edges, we hastily jump to the conclusion that the WHOLE wellness concept doesn't work, so we have to start from zero all again - with another team and offering. You can spend months (and thousands of dollars in marketing studies) perfecting your wellness offering — getting all the top brands, super industry talent, trendiest therapies (manual and touchless), state-of-the art-equipment, the top wellness consultant - the whole 9 yards of wellness. But guess what? 👉🏼 You won't know whether it's the right, most profitable wellness offering until you get it out there and actually deliver these wellness experiences to your guests. 💡 This why in my ESSENCE framework I've made sure to factor in this essential fine-tuning phase. Question: 👉🏼 Have you ever fallen into the all or nothing trap? #wellness #hotels #wellnessinhospitality
