From Caitlin Clark to Tom Brady, all the greats have one thing in common: When they’re asked about their latest accomplishment, they’ll always remind you they’re not done. There’s another milestone. Another title. Another win to earn as a team.   This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t celebrate your wins (big and small). Rather, it means we should stay hungry, stay curious, and keep looking for ways to improve ourselves and one another. Because those wins aren’t the end of a story. They’re another step — maybe even a big leap forward — in your ongoing success story. 

Had an amazing breakfast with a friend and mentor— he’s an RVP that still personally produces because he enjoys helping the “right client.” We chatted about titles and how everyone has different perspectives about them. We chatted about ideal clients in both of our spaces. (We’re in different industries.) We chatted about the feeling of validation and the sense of accomplishment you get after closing a deal. It made me realize, that I too, enjoy the same thing. Winners like to know they’re winning. How do you know you’re winning? And even further— How does your team know they’re winning?

Do you know how to celebrate your wins? I have realised that I still need to get better at it. I have been fortunate enough to have friends who keep reminding me how important it is and that I need to create the space to process it, but I am not there yet. Without being able to fully celebrate ourselves, we won't get to the point of being able to display the confidence that we should because we haven't truly recognised our achievements. Celebrating Our Wins in Q1! As we wrap up the first quarter of our fiscal year, I’m thrilled to celebrate my team’s hard work and amazing achievements. Meeting our targets is a challenging endeavor —it takes effort, determination, and a lot of motivation. So, what’s next? It’s not just about reaching our targets; it’s about keeping up the momentum and building on what we’ve achieved. I always say that real success is all about consistency. This quarter, my team has shown this by consistently delivering great work and always looking for new opportunities. Their drive and eagerness to achieve more is truly inspiring. Here’s to celebrating our steady performance and the end of Q1, and giving a shout-out to our top performers and heroes who have paved the way for growth. You may have a seen a post I shared a few weeks ago receiving an award and wondering why it took me a year to celebrate that win publicly (this photo is from that same event). Upon reflection, I've realized that my hesitance to celebrate is part of a larger pattern. I have never stopped to really celebrate my wins.  I am guilty of constantly moving on to the next thing dismissing past achievements as if they were mere steps on an endless escalator. The win, once it's in the rearview mirror, somehow loses its sheen because it's "in the past." I cannot be the only one who is like this.  Am I?  Help me out here.  But I am coming to understand that celebrating our achievements isn't about living in the past; it's about recognizing the journey and the growth that comes with each milestone. Many of us, myself included, are wired to look forward, to chase the horizon. There's always a new goal, a new challenge. And while that drive is valuable, it's equally important to pause, look back, and honour how far we've come. Our wins, big or small, are not just trophies to collect but reminders of our resilience, hard work, and the support we've had along the way. Even in writing this I know I will still find it challenging to do, so, I'm making a commitment to not only chase the future but to also honour the present and respect the past. I endeavour to celebrate my wins, to savour the moments of success, and to appreciate the journey because the future is never guaranteed.
