A rip is a type of current which sometimes can looks calm and idyllic to swim in but infact is a treacherous current which can drag you out to sea. Know what to do to help prevent further casualties to this crule hazard.
On 31 May 2023, a warm sunny spell hit Britain, driving many people to the coast to enjoy a day at the beach. Tragically, a rip current hit Bournemouth on the same day and two of these beach-goers didn't make it home to their families. Their names were Joe and Sunnah. They were just 17 and 12 years old. This is their story, told by their loving mums, Ness and Steph... These remarkable women have channelled their grief into a mission to prevent future tragedies, joining forces with RLSS UK to campaign for better water safety education.
