Happy International Women's Day. The theme this year is 'inspire inclusion'. I feel so strongly about the criticality of designing and creating a world of inclusivity... because the benefits are endless!   When I asked my little daughter what she wanted to be when she grew up the other day, she said 'strong'. Brilliant answer - and she's only 3. Let's raise each other up, be without limits and help our next generation be 'strong' and 'rise to their potential'. ❤️ A big shout out to all the inspirational women raising each other up and giving support, and to all the allies doing the same. You are changing the world...   "The success of every woman should be the inspiration to another. We should raise each other up. Make sure you’re very courageous: be strong, be extremely kind, and above all, be humble." - Serena Williams   It feels that we are at a once in a lifetime inflection point driven by new technologies, particularly #AI, which have the potential to make or break equity for all women and accelerate progress for all.  This #IWD at Accenture, we are looking at future horizons and considering how we can move forward to address the limits put upon women. We strive to navigate the noise created by today’s pace of change and take a closer look at how we can design these structures differently. Thankful for the bountiful opportunity to learn, get inspired, and be a part of the OnBoarding Women community. Our collective business acumen, humanitarian hearts, and passion to empower and enable all through our areas of expertise was grounding. According to Deloitte’s “Women in the Boardroom: A Global Perspective” report, women hold only 23.3% of board seats globally, with even less representation as board chairs and CEOs. However, diverse boards perform better financially and have a competitive advantage. They also better represent the interests of various stakeholders, including employees, customers, and investors. This is why government initiatives such as quotas and disclosures matter. Countries with such initiatives have higher female board representation, with France leading the way. Cheers to all women leaders that are bold, daring, influential, and making a visionary statement at every table they are at. Accenture has taken the lead to empower women in the workforce. 48% of the firm is comprised of women and 30% of managing directors are women. One of the reasons I’ve been with Accenture for over 27 years is the opportunities and coaching I’ve received from both men and women to take on new roles, step out of my comfort zone and become the leader I had never dreamed I could be. Thank you to those that have inspired me, mentored me and shown me how it’s done. ♀️ Happy International Women's Day! ♀️ 👑 Let's celebrate the amazing queens who juggle it all, but also acknowledge the invisible crown they wear – the mental load of keeping everything running smoothly. 🥂 Today, we raise a glass (or coffee mug!) to the women in our lives. From birthdays to dentist appointments, they manage the household with incredible skill. As a parent of four (two boys, two girls), I see this firsthand. 📈 The good news? The current trend towards gender equality is positive. But there's still a way to go. True equality means sharing the unseen burdens – from chores to childcare planning. 🙏 I'm grateful to work for a company like Accenture that champions gender equality. Seeing so many incredible female leaders inspires me every day. But let's not stop there. ➡️ Here's how we can all play a part: 🏠 At home: Open communication and shared responsibility for chores can significantly lighten the mental load. Today, I am thrilled to spend #InternationalWomensDay in solidarity with my Deloitte family at our global celebration as we #InspireInclusion by sharing stories of allyship and sponsorship and applauding the achievements of women from around the world. And truth be told, we have many reasons to celebrate – increased representation of women in our most senior leadership roles, more positive work experiences for women through hybrid work and expanded support programs focused on well-being and mental health – just to name a few!   📣 BUT, we have MUCH more to do to shape a more sustainable, inclusive, and just future for women and girls around the globe.   As I wrap up a week focused on advancing global gender parity, the question remains – where do we go from here? With the World Economic Forum reporting that we are still 131 years away from global gender parity, there remains much work to do around the world.   This is a call to action for all of us, men included. Women need someone in their corner – someone who will act as an ally, help them develop, bring their name up during important conversations, and pound the table to champion their advancement. Our job is to set a precedent that empowers women and supports a culture of inclusion.
