Happy World Skills Day
Today, we celebrate World Skills Day, a significant occasion that highlights the importance of equipping young people with essential skills for employment, decent work, and entrepreneurship. In this spirit, I want to emphasize the transformative impact of initiatives like the Ajira Digital Program and YOMA programs on the lives of Kenyan youth.
The Ajira Digital Program has been a game-changer, providing us with the digital skills necessary to thrive in the modern job market. By offering training and mentorship, Ajira empowers us to tap into online work opportunities, promoting self-reliance and economic growth. This program not only bridges the gap between education and employment but also fosters innovation and creativity among young Kenyans.
Similarly, the YOMA (Youth Agency Market) programs have been instrumental in connecting us with meaningful opportunities. Through YOMA, we gain access to various platforms that support our educational, professional, and personal development. These programs help us build a strong foundation for our futures, encouraging us to harness our potential and contribute to our communities.
On this World Skills Day, let's celebrate our achievements and acknowledge the efforts of organizations like UNICEF Kenya, EKYAN, and SAP Educate to Earn. Their support has been invaluable in promoting youth empowerment and skill development.
As we look forward to a brighter future, let us continue to embrace these opportunities, remain committed to personal growth, and work towards a greener and more sustainable Kenya.
