Last week, students from Archbishop Hoban High School JAM came to ACCESS for three days and truly made an impact at our shelter and on the lives of our residents. The students decorated the door of our playroom, they cleaned up our playground so our resident children could continue to enjoy it, they added a pop of color by planting some amazing flowers, and they even cooked a meal for our residents! Thank you for truly helping to support and empower our residents!

I started Kaleo Coaching to build others up to the GOOD work they’re called to… but sometimes it’s fun to just highlight GOOD work already happening in the community. Take a look at the GOOD work below… #calledtoGOODwork #buildingothersup #kaleocoaching

Radio Presenter on Love and Science, BCFM. Administrator at SEEd. MSc Science Communication Student with a Postgraduate Diploma (UWE Bristol).
I’ve been wanting to visit We The Curious since moving to Bristol, and today I finally got the chance to! Having reopened after a fire tore through the building in 2022, I went over to find out exactly what visitors can expect - tune in to Love and Science on BCFM next Monday to hear what I got up to! #science #scienceradio #sciencecentre #wethecurious #bcfm #scienceeducation #sciencenews #bristol #bristolnews
And we're OPEN! After 2 years, 2 months and 22 days of being closed, our doors are finally open once again. We've made a lot of new friends while we've been closed, running activities and workshops in schools, libraries and community events across the city, but it's just wonderful to have our building back. To hear it come alive with the familiar sound of people having a great time together is just magic. Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey, and to our amazing, resilient staff and volunteers. Come and see us soon 😊🌈🚀 📷 Lisa Whiting

A good one. Quality education is the key to a growing and safe community.
I am incredibly humbled by the amount of support I’ve received from our community. Megan and I love Fishers and our schools dearly and want our son and future children to have the same experience as we did in school. I look forward to sharing my vision for our schools with voters!

At Brighton Our World, we often ponder the impactful lessons that children absorb through the simple act of giving. When children participate in acts of kindness and generosity, they're not just helping others; they're embarking on a valuable learning journey. Through giving, children learn empathy, understanding the feelings and needs of others. They discover the joy of selflessness and the fulfillment that comes from contributing to the happiness and well-being of those around them. They understand the power of community and the importance of playing an active role in it. Moreover, giving teaches children about gratitude, encouraging them to appreciate what they have and understand the value of generosity. It fosters a sense of responsibility, showing them that they have the power to make a positive change, no matter their age. So, what do children learn through giving? They learn lessons of love, kindness, and the interconnectedness of our world. They learn that even the smallest act of giving can make a big difference. At https://lnkd.in/gXYKxB48, we encourage and nurture these values in our community, for they are the foundation of a compassionate and caring society. #BrightonOurWorld #ChildrenAndGiving #EmpathyInAction #LifeLessons

A pitch to pitch in this #NationalFosterCareMonth! Children that happen to have contact with the foster care system are a) #children and b) children equally deserving of care and support in a #family unit. Some need temporary support, others need more, but each of them in their own way contribute to the champions that partner with them. And there is something everyone can do to pitch in to the solution. In the abundance of our existence, it is a travesty that the brilliance of some children is dimmed through no fault of their own. Worst, the internalization of this neglect sometimes leads to cerebral and mental health degeneration that compounds over time. Ways to help one or more foster care children - 1. There are about 3.5 million households in LA County. About 30,000 children, plus or minus, in foster care, a fraction of them in search of adoption. Of the 3.5 million households, if you are a household that can provide a loving environment, consider learning more about adoption with an organization like Hillsides. 2. Adopting isn't the only way to help. Consider learning more about being a resource family for a foster care child that needs a temporary accommodation. 3. You can help in other ways, too. You can be part of all those success stories you see and hear about in the news! Can your work team or school sponsor a drive to gather new toiletries or coats or duffel bags that will go to an organization supporting foster care youth? Can your family or friend group commit to gathering $100 worth of pre-teen or teen related fun items (like board games, journals, gift cards) to offer a sense of normalcy during the holidays? Can you donate your hard-earned money to an organization like Hillsides toward the eventual success story of one of these children? Giving is one of the most fulfilling acts. However it is you have thought about pitching in, if you haven't or haven't in a while - I encourage you to get involved today! Learn more at hillsides.org/get-involved
✨ May is #NationalFosterCareMonth, and we want to extend our deepest gratitude to the incredible resource and adoptive families who open their hearts and homes to children and youth in need. Your decision to support and love a child is truly profound, and we salute each and every one of you for your empathy, compassion, and dedication. Thank you for #CreatingLastingChange in the lives of children. 💙 https://lnkd.in/g-kvKPWY #FosterToAdopt #NationalFosterCareMonth #FosterCareAwareness #ThankYouResourceFamilies

Well said Jim Davnie and Kent Pekel. With a focus on solutions, Family Engagement, Positive School Climate/Multi-tiered Systems of support, Data-Driven Early Warning Systems, Increased Caring Adults and Mentors, we are addressing the root causes instead of solely placing the blame on the student and/or their families. According to the MN Student Survey data, 25% of 11th grade students, 28% of 9th grade students, 32% of 8th grade students, and 54% of 5th grade students in MN say "adults in my community care quite a bit/very much about me". Flip the language and say out loud the % of students who feel adults don't care about them. This is why our community efforts to listen to and come alongside our young people is so important. Our young folks need multiple layers of support and this isn't only the school's responsibility. We continue our efforts to open a youth center in our small rural community for this very reason; our youth have told us what they need! Always a very inspiring place to be and one of the highlights of my work as a clinical psychologist.
Another wonderfully interactive workshop today with Bury foster carers. What a brilliant bunch of people striving hard to understand the children and young people in their homes to help support healing and bringing them towards the acceptance of nurture that they need so much. Thank you all for what you bring to the lives of children in care. https://lnkd.in/eZyhqFbR
