As the dust settles on a fantastic #DigiTech24 event yesterday, we’re reflecting on the key takeaways from an inspiring day of discussions and bold ideas. With £2.1 billion annually invested in innovation, it’s clear that urgency in digital transformation is not just important - it’s critical 🚨 A few standout moments: - Data sovereignty emerged as a pressing issue, especially when considering the privacy of citizens' data in the evolving digital landscape - With 1 in 4 people facing mental health issues, designing solutions that consider vulnerable individuals is more important than ever - From transport technology to procurement reform (coming in February), it was evident that the public sector is shifting towards an outcome-based approach, with a focus on added value and challenging the status quo. A huge thanks to Steve Sopp, Crown Commercial Service's commercial lead, and other speakers who encouraged us to challenge each other and our services, ensuring that we’re not just ticking boxes but driving meaningful, long-term transformation. And Manchester City Council’s work with vulnerable families showed how bureaucracy can waste valuable time, but with the right digital tools, we can change that.
