[Close-up video of Parker Ramsdell appears] My relationship with Special Olympics now dates back over 25 years. In my decade plus at Brightspot, we've helped launch over 20 digital properties to support Special Olympics. I'm incredibly proud of what we've built for Special Olympics and the impact those sites have had in growing the movement. We've also taken a more mindful approach to accessibility and are continuously improving our platform to make sure it meets accessibility guidelines and standards, right? The overarching goal of every tech company is to grow their audience and grow their user base. There's no easier path to accomplishing that goal than through inclusivity and accessibility. I hope we get to a point where inclusivity and accessibility aren't viewed as opportunities to expand, but as the starting point. @Ali Sheik Like many fans of @LKYSUNZ, I'm not alone in being excited about the team's focus on diversity, and inclusion, and of course, wanting to see how they bring something different to motorsports. As the world of media and PR continues to change, companies have to adapt their approach to different audiences. #SWITCHINITUP is a great example of how fans can show who they are and what they want (props to @Steve Price) DIVERSITY is about speaking to audiences from more than one background, through channels they trust. Legacy media will always have a place, but content creator-led social media and social publishing are becoming the most important voices in the room, allowing conversations with more diverse communities, and bringing with it new perspectives and new ways of thinking. ACCESSIBILITY is good for everyone. I've read a lot of posts about the lack of access for disabled communities, not just at the venues themselves, but also on digital and social media platforms - so alt text, colour contrast, video captions. With a bit of knowledge, digital accessibility can be done in-house by teams who want to understand how to improve, but access at locations needs to come through pressure being applied by the teams and organisations who want to show support for all of their fans. More audience INCLUSIVITY and being more financially viable. Appealing to younger audiences and more diverse demographics is just good business sense. Most people choose their teams when they're young, getting to know the sport, the personalities and this offers future financial benefits as these young fans become financially independent and spend money on tickets and merchandise. Creating teams that truly represent audiences - more women, more ethnic diversity, more disabled and neurodivergent team members - conveys a powerful message; attracting new fans and new talent. Looking at things from different perspectives allows for wider engagement and awareness. I for one think it's the perfect time for a company like @LKYSUNZ to shake shit up! It's been an honour @LKYSUNZ, thanks for the opportunity. #Accessibility #Inclusion #Diversity #Sports #F1 #Motorsports #Disability #Neurodivergent #DisabilityAwareness #PR #Media

❌ Virtual events do NOT automatically guarantee a win for accessibility just because of the events online nature, the reality is quite different - let me explain. Today is Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) and this years theme is around digital access and inclusion because there are more than One Billion people worldwide with disabilities and impairments. Because every user deserves a first-rate digital experience on the web. Anyone who has a disability must be able to experience web-based services, content and other digital products with the same successful outcome as those without disabilities. 💭 For example, virtual events that heavily use visual content throughout their event sessions may exclude those with visual impairments without alternative descriptions. 💭 Interactive features like chat boxes may be inaccessible to people with motor disabilities without proper accommodations. Transitioning to virtual doesn't ensure accessibility; intentional design and accommodations are essential for inclusivity🤷♀️ Here is what your virtual events can do to be more accessible and inclusive: 1. Share accessible materials in advance Prior to the event, share accessible materials such as presentation slides, handouts, or agendas in accessible formats (e.g., PDFs with proper text tagging for screen readers). By providing materials ahead of time, participants can review and prepare, enhancing their overall engagement and understanding during the virtual event. Are your virtual events truly fostering digital access and inclusion? I'd like to know and if you would like to make improvements make sure to get in touch with me at Diversity Alliance. #GAAD #DigitalInclusion #AccessForAll

Legacy As the curtain closes on the #Paralympics what will be its legacy and impact on inclusion in wider society moving forward❓🤔 Just like in the Olympics we were treated to amazing feats of sporting excellence, something out of the reach of most of us dear mortals, able bodied or not. Everyone got behind the athletes, enjoyed the TV coverage, much was done in Paris around accessibility. I found myself, unusually, touch watching the closing ceremony. Praising the *messages in the closing speeches from Tony Estanguet French canoeist and Andrew Parsons IOC rightly. * ⭐1.3b disabled people worldwide, ⭐Inclusion revolution, ⭐free from barriers to perform at their best, ⭐strength in difference, ⭐time for you and society to make a difference, ⭐must be followed by acceptance and action, ⭐we all have a collective responsibility to use the momentum of the Paralympics to make the world around us more inclusive, ⭐enable and empower people to excel, out of the world of sport, ⭐diversity and difference should unite us. Progress in sport and wider society has certainly been made in my lifetime, but there is, more still we could all do towards a fully inclusive world and opportunities for everyone. With our teams professional and lived experience and insight, we are able to provide training around the challenges and barriers associated with hiring people who experience additional needs for support. For example, we have worked with the voluntary sector and raised awareness of services, resources and adjustments which can help people with neurodiversity in the workplace. This includes how a manager can support them and what other support is available for individuals. Our clients have reported that they i) have more insight into how widespread neurodiversity is and so many ways it can affect people's lives ii) are better informed when engaging with clients, both current and prospective ones, and in supporting family iii) have a greater understanding. Let's have a chat to discover what tailored training we could offer you, your colleagues or customers.info@inclusivematrix.org 0796 975 7041. #InclusiveWorkspaces #InclusiveMatrix

What happened? I show up. I believe in opportunities and possibilities. I believe in working with brands in the corporate sector who lean in more and build #Equity for the #DisabledCommunity, not only just in viewership for the #ParalympicGames, but make a powerful impact in worforce and community activation. I align with brands like #Citi who represent people with disabilities. Personally, I know the power of leading with lived experiences to shatter stereotypes in the workforce. Let's start the conversation to be more #DisabilityInclusive. How can we accurately represent if we don't show up? Are you Ready or Not! #ReadyOrNotMedia #Paralympics #HireTalent #TalentAndAquisition #PassTheTorch #Branding #PowerOfPeople #AdAge #SocialImpact
Citi’s Paralympic ads reframe the question the athletes so often get: ‘What happened?’

Sports have the incredible power to inspire, unite, and transform lives, and this is especially true for adapted sports. With over 4 million people with disabilities participating in recreational sports every year, adapted sports are not just games but powerful tools for advocacy and empowerment. They create a world where everyone belongs, regardless of their abilities, fostering inclusivity, resilience, and personal growth. Adapted sports are modified to accommodate individuals with disabilities, ensuring everyone can participate fully and effectively. By showcasing athletes' skills and determination, these sports challenge stereotypes and promote a more inclusive society. They provide opportunities for physical activity, improving overall health and well-being while boosting self-esteem, confidence, and social connections. Real-world stories highlight the transformative impact of adapted sports. Studies have shown that participation in these activities improves self-efficacy, increases confidence in daily life, and enhances overall quality of life. Athletes like Paralympic swimmer Jessica Long and wheelchair basketball player Ella Sabljak credit adapted sports by helping them overcome challenges, develop a strong sense of self, and build resilience. However, challenges such as lack of funding, inadequate facilities, and limited public awareness persist. Addressing these issues requires a multi-faceted approach involving governments, non-profits, communities, and individuals. By enacting inclusive policies, allocating resources, raising awareness, and promoting accessibility, we can create a more equitable landscape for adapted sports. The future of adapted sports is bright, with technological advancements enhancing accessibility and performance for athletes with disabilities. By educating ourselves, volunteering, donating, advocating, and spreading the word, we can all support the transformative power of adapted sports. Together, we can create a world where every individual, regardless of ability, has the opportunity to participate, compete, and thrive. Let's start making a difference today!
