Looking for a philanthropy to support this summer? Need a friendly community to support your summer wellness efforts? Join ATS’s 2nd annual Summer of Purpose wellness program in support of The Ulman Foundation! You can find all the details and register at ATS Summer of Purpose Online Registration (runsignup.com)—the program starts on the first day of Summer (6/20) but you can start fundraising NOW! As one of the pillars of our corporate culture, ATS believes strongly in encouraging our entire community to focus on their physical and mental wellness, so this summer we want YOU to join us in answering, “What’s YOUR purpose?” for pursuing wellness! In answering this question for ourselves and sharing with the members of the program, we hope to build support for each of our wellness journeys. For the second year, ATS is partnering this event with support for The Ulman Foundation (https://lnkd.in/eTBC75_B), whose mission is "to change lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer." They are a remarkable organization that has a significant impact on many lives. Look for testimonials as we progress throughout the summer to add motivation to your purpose! And if you choose not to register as a participant in our event, you can still donate to The Ulman Foundation through other registered participants! All donations go directly to the Foundation. Donate here at ATS Summer of Purpose Online Donations (runsignup.com)! This year’s Summer of Purpose will include prize drawings for hitting wellness (walking, running, yoga, and more!) and charitable milestones. Help yourself, help a wonderful cause, and help your community through your participation! So far this year, our event is sponsored by Homegrown Power Yoga (HPY) (www.homegrownpoweryoga.com), New Trail Cycling Reston's Fitness Studio (newtrailcycling.com), and Weird Bros. Coffee who will be contributing gifts and hosting charity events over the summer. We are truly grateful for the generosity of our sponsors and their commitment to improving their local community through charity and wellness. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please let us know! As we add sponsors and partners we will update the event website, so check back regularly. We look forward to you joining us in a summer of fun wellness activities and fundraising in support of a truly worthy charity. Welcome to Day 4 of our CBI Rebrand Daily Challenge! Today, we're exploring the interconnected power of Giving + Receiving, and how, through the lens of mindfulness, these acts become a beautiful cycle of mutual benefit. Our CBI Rebrand Daily Challenge continues, with the chance to win a weekend retreat with our Executive Director, Danae (a $959 value). Here's a reminder of how it works: Daily themed content with specific engagement prompts Each engagement earns one raffle entry More participation increases your chances of winning One winner will be announced in our August Newsletter Today's theme is Giving + Receiving. Giving as Receiving: Metta illustrates the neurological benefits of giving. Our brains are wired for connection, and when we practice generosity - through words, acts, thoughts, or donations - we're not just benefiting the recipients. The ancient wisdom of mindfulness teaches us that cultivating generosity reverberates through our entire being, amplifying this quality while reducing attention towards other qualities (such as scarcity for example). To all who give, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. Receiving as Giving: While we'll delve deeper into our scholarship fund in the coming days, it's worth noting that our community members who allow themselves to receive, give us the opportunity to amplify generosity within ourselves. To all who receive, we are profoundly thankful. At Copper Beech Institute, Giving + Receiving is intricately woven into our work through diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Social justice is about the ways systems manage resources, and about restructuring those systems. By providing access to wellness through grant funding and individual donations, we're committed to breaking down barriers for those who are marginalized and often excluded from self-care opportunities, shifting wellness from a luxury to a benefit available for all. We're here together, in community. We invite you to visit our Give + Receive website page to find your button for today — I am abundant, I give or I am supported, I receive. To enter today's raffle challenge, simply comment "Give + Receive" on the Day 4 post (Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn). Remember, each day you participate increases your chances of winning the retreat! Remember, each day you participate in the CBI Challenge increases your chances of winning the retreat, and each moment you engage in metta practice replaces negative thought patterns with positive care. With gratitude, All of Us at CBI

Self care is important, especially when... * Raising kids * Working * Volunteering * Attending our kids' activities NONE of these are bad. They're GOOD💯 BUT, if we’re not careful, before we know it, we've developed bad habits like... * Not enough sleep * Running through drive-thrus * Poor meal planning ...ultimately, living POOR examples to our kids, spouses, family, co-workers, & friends☹️ Self-care lists say eating healthy & getting enough exercise are how our bodies function BEST! That's how we AVOID disease, obesity, & diabetes! It's NOT too late to correct these things👍🏻 I’ve been in this rut before when my kids were younger. It's easy to do, because, like I said, they’re all GOOD things💯 * I LOVED helping in my boys' classrooms! * I LOVED teaching * I LOVED volunteering at school functions * I LOVED helping at church * I LOVED attending all of my boys' track & cross country meets; basketball, baseball, & football games; & wrestling matches I was... 1. Sleep-deprived 2. Eating fast food several times a week 3. Giving my boys fast food 4. Fixing unhealthy meals like pasta, bread, casseroles, cereal, pizza, etc I've always had workouts in my life, but I didn't realize, at that time, how MUCH nutrition & sleep affect SO many aspects of our life. I just didn't know & was ignorant of such info🤷🏻♀️ SO, we started making changes; we… 1. Learned about REAL health. 2. Made healthier food choices, NOT what the govt & the old food pyramid taught us! 3. Started getting enough sleep, REGULARLY! 4. PLANNED healthier meals to avoid stops at restaurants. 5. Made GOALS for ourselves, instead of just moving weights around at the gym. If you look at history, nothing has happened but obesity🥲 It's constant learning about nutrition & how our bodies function best. There are ALWAYS things we can do BETTER🙌🏻 SO, here's to... * Making change * Meal-planning * Awesome sleep * Healthy choices Once you experience it, you won't go back💯 - One thing at a time - One day at a time - One week at a time - One month at a time THEN, you'll have implemented healthy habits & be on YOUR way to a healthier lifestyle, an example to be proud of👏🏻 If you'd like help with any of these endeavors, l'd love to work on your goals with you! Solutions Catalyst: bringing innovative solutions to operational complexities, Managing Partner @ Asia SGE
Ever wondered if those hours cleaning beaches in the sun or running marathons dressed as a giant chicken could actually make you a superstar at work? Well, let me tell you about charity work and its surprising impact on work productivity! First off, let's talk about the 'feel-good' factor. Engaging in charity work releases those snuggly warm chemicals in your brain, like dopamine and oxytocin. It's like a natural high that doesn't require questionable life choices. This boost in mood translates to more energy and enthusiasm at work, making you the office equivalent of a superhero, minus the cape. Ever wonder why some days you feel like you could conquer the world, and other days you can't even conquer your laundry pile? Well, it might have something to do with your brain's dynamic duo: dopamine and oxytocin. These two chemicals are like the Batman and Robin of neurotransmitters, swooping in to save the day—or at least make it a lot more enjoyable. Dopamine, our own personal hype-man, is all about that reward and pleasure life. It's the reason we feel a sense of accomplishment when we tick off tasks on our to-do list or why we get that 'runner's high'. It's basically your brain giving you a high-five. Then there's oxytocin, the love hormone. It's like a warm hug from your brain, promoting feelings of connection and trust. It's what makes us go "aww" at puppies and helps us bond with others over shared experiences—like that time you both laughed so hard milk came out of your noses. These two are the secret sauce to making mundane tasks and social interactions feel like a party. Going back to charity and productivity - there's data! A study by the do-gooders at 'The Generosity Project' found that employees who volunteered regularly were 18% more productive than their non-volunteering counterparts. That's like being able to clone yourself and have the clone do all your work while you take an extra coffee break. And let's not forget about the skills! Charity work is like a Swiss Army knife for your resume. Leadership, teamwork, problem-solving – you name it, you've probably done it while trying to organize a bake sale or herd cats for a local shelter. These skills are transferable to your day job, making you a multitasking wizard. So, there you have it! charity work doesn't just make the world a better place; it turns you into a mix of angel and work star. Who knew being good could feel so... productive? #charity #productivity #entrepreneurship #future #futurism #domorein24 Image by Alexa from Pixabay

🤫 Want a short cut to improving your and your team's wellbeing? 💪 I spend my Monday nights with GoodGym doing gentle runs around Bromley to support various community projects and here's how it can be the short cut you're looking for according to Gallup's Wellbeing definitions: 🏃 First up is running or walking to projects which is obviously great for Physical Wellbeing ❤️ Then there's getting involved in those projects (aka good deeds) which help people in your area from food banks to youth centres, getting your Community Wellbeing sorted. 🫂 Which you're doing with other people both from GoodGym and the projects, improving the most important one of all, Social Wellbeing. 💷 There is a monthly donation, but it's on a sliding scale so should be affordable for all, and is definitely cheaper than the gym - ultimately giving you a positive purpose for your money, which is good for your Financial Wellbeing. 🤔 And ticking off those four elements at once, has naturally got to be great for your Mental Wellbeing! 😀 It certainly has been for me, as I continue my wellbeing journey at the Employee Benefits Collective LLP, where we're very happy taking our own advice! 👇Link to GoodGym 👇 #EmployeeWellbeing #MentalWellbeing.#PhysicalWellbeing #FinancialWellbeing #CommunityWellbeing #SocialWellbeing

The Health Benefits of Living in a Connected Community Throughout August we are running our Community Cheerleader campaign. It’s where we shout from the rooftops (and blog posts) about the importance of supporting our neighbourhood together. Here’s part three of our five-part series, which examines the health and well-being benefits of community spirit. When neighbours know each other, and people work together to support the area, the positive impacts on physical and mental health are profound. Here are some ways being part of a cohesive community helps to make many aspects of our lives healthier and happier. 1. Reduced Stress and Anxiety Being part of a caring, supportive community can significantly reduce stress and anxiety. Knowing that help is available and having people to talk to can provide a sense of security and belonging. Regular social interactions with neighbours and friends can reduce loneliness and isolation, which are major contributors to stress and mental health issues. 2. Increased Happiness and Satisfaction Communities where people are engaged and connected tend to be happier and have higher life satisfaction levels. Participating in community activities and building relationships helps contribute to a greater sense of purpose and fulfilment. 3. Real Social Networks Strong community connections provide a robust social support network. Whether offering a listening ear, helping with errands or providing childcare, being part of a network of people you can rely on makes life’s challenges easier to manage. 4. Encouragement of Healthy Lifestyles Thriving communities often promote healthy lifestyles through organised activities such as walking groups, Parkrun and sports teams. These activities encourage physical exercise, essential for maintaining a healthy weight, cardiovascular health and overall fitness. 5. Improved Public Safety Engaged communities tend to have lower crime rates and a higher sense of safety. Neighbours look out for each other and report suspicious activities. A safer environment boosts our overall sense of well-being. Get involved What can you do to improve your community’s sense of togetherness? There are lots of small changes you can make that will have an impact. You could shop locally wherever possible, join a local sports club, volunteer or simply say ‘hello’ to your neighbours. Here’s to being a Community Cheerleader and giving back to the places we call home.

The secret of being happy does not lie in getting more, but in giving more. May you be blessed with loads of happiness today. ## The Essence of Happiness: Giving vs. Getting The quote you shared beautifully encapsulates a profound truth about happiness. Let's delve into why giving can often lead to greater fulfillment than simply seeking to acquire more for oneself. ### The Joy of Giving 1. Connection with Others Giving fosters a sense of community and strengthens relationships. When we share our time, resources, or kindness, we create bonds that enhance our emotional well-being. 2. Increased Gratitude Engaging in acts of kindness can shift our focus from what we lack to what we have. This perspective fosters gratitude, which is closely linked to happiness. 3. Sense of Purpose Helping others often provides a sense of purpose and meaning in life. Contributing to the well-being of others can make our own lives feel more significant. ### Practical Ways to Give More - Volunteer Your Time Find local organizations or causes that resonate with you and offer your skills or time. Whether it's mentoring, tutoring, or participating in community clean-ups, your efforts can make a difference. - Share Your Knowledge Teach someone a skill or share your expertise. This not only helps others but can also reinforce your own knowledge and boost your confidence. - Acts of Kindness Simple gestures, like complimenting a stranger, helping a neighbor, or donating to charity, can create ripples of positivity in your community. ### Conclusion The secret to happiness often lies in the joy of giving rather than accumulating. By focusing on how we can uplift others, we not only enhance their lives but also enrich our own. May you experience abundant happiness today and always, through the act of giving! What are some acts of kindness that can bring happiness to others Here are some simple acts of kindness that can bring happiness to others: 1. Smile and Say Hello 2. Give Compliments 3. Hold the Door Open 4. Help Someone in Need Whether it's carrying groceries or simply listening, offering help can have a profound impact. 5. Pay It Forward Random acts like paying for someone's coffee can create a chain reaction of kindness 6. end a Thank-You Note Expressing gratitude strengthens relationships and fosters a supportive environment. 7. Volunteer Your Time Helping at local shelters or community projects can make a significant difference in others' lives 8. Leave Positive Notes Writing uplifting messages and leaving them in public spaces can spread joy unexpectedly 9. Offer Words of Encouragement. Supporting someone going through a tough time can uplift their spirits. 10. Practice Self-Kindness Remembering to be kind to yourself is equally important, as it enhances overall well-being. These acts, no matter how small, can create a ripple effect of positivity in your community. Make Someone's Day: 10 Simple Acts
