Today is #RUOKDay, a powerful reminder to check in on those around us, especially older Australians who may be feeling isolated or lonely. At ACCPA, we recognise the unique challenges faced by the aged care community, and we know that a simple conversation can make all the difference. Loneliness can have a profound impact on mental and physical health, particularly for older people. Whether it’s a resident, a colleague, or a loved one, take a moment today to ask, “Are you okay?” Your kindness could be the connection someone really needs. • Find helpful resources: www.ruok.org.au/ • For ageing-specific support: https://lnkd.in/dmP5jav • Don't forget to reach out to your workplace's HR and management resources for further help and guidance. Together, let’s foster a caring community where no one feels alone. #RUOKDay #RUOKDay2024 #RUOKAnyDay

Today is #RUOKDay. Day, and this year’s theme, ‘Ask R U OK? Any Day,’ is a reminder that we should be checking in with each other regularly, not just once a year. It's important to stay connected and have meaningful conversations, whether it's at work, at home, or in our communities. Often, we don’t know what someone might be going through beneath the surface. At RWAV, we stand behind our hardworking health professionals who face unique challenges while providing care in rural communities. Today, let's take a moment to ask, R U OK? A small gesture can make a big difference. The Department of Health’s Regional Mental Health Workforce Incentives Program, launched in July 2022, has supported over 130 mental health workers to relocate to rural and regional Victoria. How are you hanging in there? 💛 I've been reflecting on the importance of community and how wellness is truly a collective effort. It's so easy to get wrapped up in our own lives and our own stories, but nothing thrives in isolation. We need to support one another and take an active role in promoting the health and well-being of those around us. No matter what you have going on in your personal life, I guarantee that if you find a moment to do something kind for someone else today, you'll feel a little lighter. It could be as small as a smile or as big as volunteering. Studies show that even small acts of kindness and connection can reduce pain and improve our mental health 💚 So let's step into our communities. Let's show up and be physically present. If you can, take a moment today to be of service. Together, we can create the kind of change we want to see in our communities 💞 #WellnessIsCollective #CommunityCare #KindnessHeals #MentalHealthMatters #BeOfService #AdvocateForAll #CheeDynamic #ShowUp #TogetherWeThrive #acupuncture #selfcare #seattle #belltown #wellness #holistichealth #healthcare #takecareofyourself #takecareofeachother #communitycare #collectivehealth #collectivewellness #letsstartamovement

Men's Sheds: Building Healthier Communities, Stronger Families Did you know that Men’s Sheds across the UK play a powerful role in reducing isolation and improving mental well-being for members, many of whom feel less lonely and more connected to their communities? Research shows that over 96% of those who join a Shed report new friendships and a renewed sense of purpose. These friendships and community ties not only benefit the Shedders but also have ripple effects, strengthening families and creating supportive, connected communities. Beyond companionship, Sheds often host health checks and wellness resources, promoting better physical health through simple, peer-led initiatives. When people thrive in social environments, their families benefit too! This month is all about the WOMEN! Ladies, please remember you are nothing without your health. As women, you carry a lot of weight on your shoulders often taking care of everyone else making it easy to neglect your own well-being. But don't! Even if everyone else is your priority, you can't take care of others without taking care of self. Here are 3 things you can begin doing for yourself: Take control of your mental health - Prioritize activities that promote mental well-being, such as spending time with loved ones, engaging in hobbies, and always seeking professional help if needed. Focus on a balanced diet - Pay attention to getting enough calcium, vitamin D, and other nutrients that support bone health and overall well-being. Stay Socially Active - Make an effort to stay socially active by participating in community activities, volunteering, or joining clubs or groups with similar interests. Women, take care of yourself this year! -The Good Public Health Practitioners #womenshealth #publichealth #womeninhealth #womenhealthleaders #healthleaders #healthorganizations #healthywomentips

Life at The Lettings Hub is never boring.
Last week, as most weeks are, was a busy one here at Hub HQ! As well as our day-to-day we had some very exciting activities for World Mental Health Day, team celebrations and the launch of our jam-packed Renters' Rights Bill Webinar. As we said... very busy! So to catch you up here is what our Hubsters did... 💛 In honor of World Mental Health Day, we were proud to support the YoungMinds #HelloYellow campaign! On this important day, our Hubsters stood together to raise awareness about mental health, especially for young people, and break the stigma around it by wearing yellow. The aim was to brighten everyone’s day and remind them that no one has to face their mental health challenges alone. 💪 Another way to support World Mental Health Day, our Head of People Faustina Yang Assoc CIPD led a tai chi and qigong session on Thursday. On a physical level, Tai Chi and Qigong improve strength, flexibility, aerobic conditioning and balance and has a lot of mental health benefits. 🍼 To celebrate the birth of the newest Hubster baby, Arsalan Rasheed from our Development Team brought in some sweet treats for the whole office to enjoy! We can't wait to meet her! 📄 We were also lucky enough to speak to Suzanne Smith and David Smith on Thursday following the 2nd reading of the Renters' Rights Bill on Wednesday. It was a great session that answered all the pressing questions you submitted, plus some tips on what you need to be doing to prepare. Missed it? Don't worry you can watch it here - https://lnkd.in/e6-9SV-5 And this week we are not slowing down! With a Boom Day around the corner and Halloween festivities starting soon you will see a lot more from Hub HQ 🎃

Since the theme of this year’s #WorldDayofSocialJustice is "Bridging Gaps, Building Alliances” we thought we’d share what we’re doing to foster solidarity as one of the cornerstones of the Amplify Goods mission. Our #QuietChangemakers are the silent, strong, perhaps introverted folk in our orbit who are working hard to make change, do good, It’s often these very people who are overlooked by society, and who aren’t remunerated for their immense efforts. That’s why our #QuietChangemaker programme exists to invest a percentage of our profits into the wellbeing of these hidden heroes. So far we’ve supported 6 Quiet Changemakers by investing in: 💡 Mental health support via counselling sessions 💡 Physical wellness via physiotherapy, exercise classes or nourishing food 💡 Practical support with childcare and mentoring schemes. By doing this, we can begin to bridge the gap, allowing some of our hardest workers to focus their skills and motivation, renew and recentre themselves, and ground themselves so that they’re in a better position to affect more vital change. #socialjustice #bridgingthegap Image attribute: https://lnkd.in/guUPzpa
