If you’re currently mentoring someone: Here are 5 actionable steps you can have your mentee take to achieve a more balanced professional and personal being: - Don’t be afraid to say “No.” - Make your health a top priority. - Set boundaries so you can unplug. - Schedule time for your framily (friends and/or family). - Start small. What is that one thing you do that people don’t know about?   For me, it was a mentorship program. I launched Ella’s Elite Mentorship Program in January of this year, which is dedicated to empowering individuals on their personal and professional growth journey. It is designed to provide guidance, support, and a nurturing environment for those seeking to unlock their potential and thrive in various aspects of life. I’ve mentored 10+ mentees without even announcing it. However, I decided to share this one because it speaks directly to me. In January, Samuel contacted me about being his mentor, and I told him I would think about it and get back to him. He wanted a program where he could advance in his career and build relationships. Then, I asked him this question I used to ask anyone who reached out for any of my services. ‘’Why choose me?’’ his response changed everything. (Ella, it has to be you who I have watched closely for two months since Haoma’s challenge; he prayed over it, and God keeps showing him my name. Ella, you’re who you think you are.) That’s how I accepted the position of mentor, Samuel. I told him there would be ups and downs, but I would hold his hand as he crossed that bridge. He paid for a one-month mentorship, which we kicked off in February. After two weeks of sessions, I received a jewellery gift from him from PH and a review of our last sessions. Approaching week 3, external issues started flying up, and there was no network at his school for a whole 1month; I couldn’t reach him. I sent so many messages and emails but had no means to communicate until early last month when he went to a neighbouring town and reached out before my mind could be at peace. Then, I was preparing for my traditional wedding and had a workload, so I had to adjust myself to fit into his schedule, and that was how we had our third-week session. Yesterday, we wrapped up the final session, and Samuel graduated. I’m sharing this story to motivate someone. If you don’t give up on yourself, you will get there. It's done! I presented at the WBECS Full Summit with my session on Introverted Visibility - How to be Heard in a Noisy World late last night Singapore time. Thank you to everyone who attended and for your interactions. It was a wonderful experience for me working with Beth Schofield, Dominik Bortas, Leo and Lyn from Aug last year when I was selected to be one of the coaches on the Coach Showcase for the Coaching Mastery sessions, leading up to last night. As a thinking introvert, I couldn't quite sleep last night. I believe it's the adrenaline rush (I know, too much dopamine has overstimulated me!) from having a high doing this session. I had a lot of thoughts about how I could have done it differently and done it better. I underestimated the time for Q&A as I was focused on providing as much content and information in the session as possible. I felt bad about having to rush through the last few slides in the presentation. Yes, I overthink and I ruminate. However, I am grateful that everyone was so engaged and thank you to those who have contacted me personally to encourage and support me with your kind words. No Mentor? No Problem! - Ease Nerves by Being Yourself Yesterday was "I Am a Mentor" day! And I am so thankful for all who have served as my mentors. I wish there was enough room to list all of them!   I am lucky to be llayda Sahin's mentor. I decided to recognize Mentoring Month by asking her what my most helpful advice has been during our partnership. In less than 10 minutes, she responded -   "Whatever you do (when presenting), there will be people who won't pay attention or like it, just keep improving yourself and create your authentic self."   Stay Audience Focused and Authentic As long as the material is relevant to your audience's needs, present in the style that is most comfortable to you. Your delivery type is not going to speak to everyone, and that is okay.
