Do you know why is Air Entrainment required for severe exposure conditions?? Because, it provides resistance to the effects of freezing and thawing cycles. They are designed to produce a large number of small (nearly microscopic) voids in the paste at a calculated spacing factor of 8 mil (0.2 mm) o less. This close spacing voids allows relief of pressure that develops when moisture in the concrete expands during freezing.

Those who are working with AFBC boiler are quite familiar with bed coil failures due to erosion. These coils are placed inside the coarse bed material fluidized with a velocity of around 3m/s, so erosion failures are expected. But it doesn’t always fail in erosion! The PDF document attached below contains a comprehensive case study with analysis that will explain how change in various system conditions contribute to a failure. We invite you all to raise your queries or extend the discussion in the comments section. Let's learn and grow together! Looking forward to your input! #CaseStudy #BedCoilTubeFailure #Discussion #BoilerExpertise #Causticcorrosion #boiler #engineeringsolutions #learning #failureanalysis

How well does your silt fence filter runoff? If your silt fence is blinding off after the first rain event, allowing turbid water to create more issues, it might be time to consider a superior solution. 400EO Silt Fence has an 89% filtering efficiency (ASTM D5141), allowing filtered runoff to pass through the monofilament fabric while sediment is retained.
