My colleagues from Consortiq have been in Scotland this week delivering a seminar on corporate and vicarious liability. This is a real area of importance for management to understand. Whilst remote pilots and accountable managers can, with the right training, be a very efficient and effective resource they need the support of senior leadership to ensure they are properly equipped, resourced and provisioned. With my Flight Safety hat on I have seen many reports where incidents occur and pilot error is the stated cause but when digging in to them I find that the true root cause lies further back, with leadership not providing pilots with time to practice or cutting corners on safety.
