I have celiac disease, which is often on the list of life altering disabilities; however, it does not effect my ability to do work in any way. I experienced an unjust termination from #GIRLVOW, an organization where I dedicated significant time and effort while navigating multiple challenges as a young mom, a college student pursuing a degree in the human services field, and someone with a past incarceration. Despite juggling these responsibilities and personal growth endeavors, I was unexpectedly let go without prior warning or clear justification. This abrupt decision not only impacted my professional trajectory but also added layers of complexity to my journey toward rehabilitation, education, and stability for myself and my family. Throughout my tenure at #GIRLVOW, I consistently demonstrated dedication, collaboration, and a strong work ethic, aligning with the company's goals and values despite the obstacles I faced personally and academically. The lack of transparent communication and feedback regarding performance or any specific concerns prior to my termination was particularly disheartening, given my commitment to overcoming past challenges and contributing positively to my community through my studies and future career in human services. I firmly believe that every individual deserves fair treatment, clear expectations, and an opportunity to address any issues that may arise, especially those of us striving for personal and professional growth after facing incarceration and other life-altering experiences. Moving forward, I am focused on continuing my education, advocating for fairness and transparency in the workplace, and seeking opportunities that align with my skills, values, and dedication to making a meaningful difference in the human services field.
