Learning Services and Development Specialist Corporate L&D Expert | Leveraging Neuroscience & Psychology in Training | Fostering a Culture of Continuous Improvement
This is a pro tip for hiring managers who aren’t super well versed in L&D — I have been witnessing quite a few professionals advertising their skillset in L&D by focusing on experience with Pedagogy. I’ve also seen a few job listings requesting this! The problem here is that Pedagogy is primarily the study of teaching children, and the skillset does not transfer well to adult learners. You want professionals that have expertise with Androgogy, the study of adult learning. Adults learn very differently than children. There is some overlap, of course, but if you want an adult to retain the information you’re providing them in an actionable way it will require a lot of special considerations. A successful L&D professional should have some baseline understanding of Androgogy principles, as well as experience under their belt developing both front line employees and leadership. If you want a truly special experience with an L&D professional, find one who has successful experience training other L&D professionals. These are the folks who are going to take your training and education departments to the next level! I’ll be taking the time to post more insights on the field periodically. #learningservices #learninganddevelopment #training #corporatetraining #androgogy #androgogyvspedagogy

It is important to adapt as an educator. We recently had a class meeting about extra talking during independent work time. Our future leaders and problem solvers came up with the idea of being given a walking or talking break. This is day 3, but it is working great so far! The school staff knows and makes sure to praise them in the hallways for earning that break! #involvethestudents #problemsolving

In a recent #encounter from a supervision space, my supervisee experienced ease and comfort while discovering her process with the client and she asked me why is it everything was so easy. It has to be difficult or hard to experience achievements. #Achievementsoraccomplishments should not be achieved easily, they should come through hard work. I asked what makes you think so? She said that is how education has been to date. We then explored the parallel process between her and her client. Simultaneously, as a supervisor, I too paid attention to my past experiences. #Unconsciousprocesses are gifts from supervision space that offer insight into our day-to-day lives and work. #Supervision is a safe and contained space for #reflection and #exploration of our work with clients. This space helps us to discover the meaning-making process and the blind spots in our work and helps us to build #competence and #skills to develop further in our profession. we also expand our frames of reference from a #metalevel thinking and #in-depth unconscious treasures. In our group supervision for practising #transactionalanalysis #psychotherapists, we will deepen our practice of evaluating theory and guidelines using experiential methods from different models #NapperandNewton, 2007 and #Eusden, 2019. Performance Consultant who believes in people's potential and possibilities! | HR Consultant, Corporate Trainer, Leadership Coach
How can we #aid in regulating #emotions? 🤔 When #children encounter unexpected situations (like being denied candy), they often react with immediate negative emotions that they cannot control. What can we do to assist them in such moments? 🤔When #staff performance suffers for various reasons—not just due to lack of skill, but also because of attitude and motivation—negative emotions can arise and sometimes persist. What steps can we take to support them during these times? There isn't a single solution, but there are a few principles that hold true: 1 Don’t #React: If your goal is to assist, not to control, maintain patience. Acknowledge what you observe in your kids or staff without immediate judgement or anger. Reacting harshly or in frustration only exhibits a #controlling mindset, which isn't helpful. 2 #Process is Key: Personal growth, as well as helping others grow, is a continuous process. Providing feedback isn't a one-time event. It may require ongoing observation and communication. #Patience is essential throughout this process. This morning, I reacted to my children's emotions instead of assisting them in understanding those emotions. I write this as a reminder to myself. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 #八十後企業培訓家 #大眾博士生 #SharedAcademy

Host of 'Behavior Bridge' Podcast | ABA Clinician | Passionate Trainer and Advocate for Effective Behavioral Interventions
I wanted to take a moment to highlight the crucial role of a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. As a firm believer in the power of ABA therapy, I believe that starting as an RBT is not only valuable but also instrumental in developing a strong clinical skill set. Let me tell you why! 🏋️♀️ Building a Strong Foundation: Starting as an RBT provides a solid foundation for individuals looking to pursue a career in ABA therapy. It allows them to gain hands-on experience in implementing evidence-based interventions under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This practical experience is invaluable in understanding the core principles of ABA and how to effectively apply them in real-life situations. 🤝 Collaboration and Teamwork: As an RBT, you become an essential part of a collaborative and interdisciplinary team. Working closely with BCBA's, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other professionals, you learn the importance of effective communication, teamwork, and coordination. This collaborative approach ensures that clients receive comprehensive and individualized treatment plans, leading to more meaningful progress. 🌱 Professional Growth and Development: Starting as an RBT allows individuals to immerse themselves in the field of ABA therapy and gain exposure to various client populations and settings. This exposure broadens their knowledge and understanding of different behavioral challenges and interventions. As RBTs continue to grow, they can pursue advanced certifications, such as becoming a BCBA, and take on more responsibilities within the field. 💼 Expanding Employment Opportunities: The demand for ABA therapy continues to grow, making the role of an RBT more crucial than ever before. By starting as an RBT, individuals not only gain practical experience but also enhance their employability. Employers highly value individuals with RBT experience, as it demonstrates a commitment to the field and a strong foundation in ABA principles. 🌟 In conclusion, the role of a Registered Behavior Technician is undeniably important in the realm of ABA therapy. Starting as an RBT allows individuals to develop a strong clinical skill set, learn from experienced professionals, and make a meaningful impact on the lives of clients and their families. If you're passionate about helping others and making a difference, consider embarking on this rewarding journey as an RBT. Together, let's create positive change and empower individuals to reach their full potential! 💪💙 #ABATherapy #RBT #ProfessionalGrowth #MakingADifference #Empowerment #Collaboration

What is Compassion? Compassion doesn’t follow a give-and-take approach. Instead, it has an added component of altruism in it as the person showing compassion rarely expects to receive the same or does so to get something in return. In all its essence, compassion is “empathy in action.” Organizations where compassion prevails, have employees with reduced stress and more job satisfaction . Additionally, workplace compassion also invites more loyalty, dedication, and employee engagement. Let us understand this with the help of a Story. One day Teacher came to class and gave his students a surprise test. All student read all the questions in the test paper, but were surprised to see the last questions. Question was: "What is the first name of woman who cleans the school?" Students were confused seeing this question and thought that this might be some kind of joke. Students took test but all of them left the last question blank. After finishing test one of the student got up and asked if the last question would count towards the test marks. The teacher smiled and said, “Absolutely.” Another student said,” Sir, I have seen her many times, but I never asked her name.” The Teacher said,” In your careers, you will meet many people and remember that all of them are significant and important. Each deserve your attention, it is ok even if you smile and say Hello.” Moral of the Story: Every person is Important and Deserve your Attention and Respect”. Every employee working in the Organization are important for the Organization. Hence we should treat all with due respect.
