🔗 As we approach Second Chance Month this April, we're proud to launch a new blog series that highlights our top performing companies when it comes to providing job opportunities for those impacted by the criminal justice system. Nearly 80 million Americans have an arrest or conviction record, which often creates barriers to obtaining steady employment due to negative social stigmas and discriminatory corporate policies. However, in our research we've discovered companies that are leading the way in second chance hiring, creating more equitable policies and programs that truly provide a second chance for returning citizens. Join us in celebrating progress and advocating for policy change. Follow along as we dive deeper into the best practices of these companies in the coming weeks! #SecondChanceMonth #SecondChanceHiring #FairChanceHiring #BreakTheCycle #CriminalJustice

March 2024 employee spotlight, Miquan Brown! Miquan joined the Rite team in April 2020 as an Engineering Technician and has recently been promoted to Project Technical Lead. We are happy to have you as a Friend Enjoying Work and congratulations on your promotion! A little Q&A to get to know him! Q: What are your hobbies? A: I bake, which is not a hobby I thought I would be getting into but it surprisingly calming (when it’s going right). Q: What motivates you? A: Specifically, now, I have friends still in the Fleet that will be one day using the tools I am helping to develop. If I do a good job here it directly benefits them. Q: Personal anecdote or silly story to add? A: Dan Raposo is afraid of me and I don’t know why Q: What is a favorite pastime? A: There is a YouTube Channel, EVNautilus, that is a collection of videos or live streams of a exploration submarine just exploring. Its fun to watch, especially when you're baking and need something to look at other than the oven. Q: What company values resonate with you the most? A: One of the F.E.W. resonates very well with me. I enjoy showing up to work and knowing that the people I interact with are individuals I look forward to seeing. Q: Who or What inspired you to pursue the career you have today? A: My best friend Max. He started working here before I did and seeing him have a good time without me was heartbreaking. Q: What is your favorite aspect of the Defense industry? A: It is an ever-evolving industry that is at the forefront of technological advancements. Historically, the defense industry routinely adopts technologies well before they emerge in the commercial market or private industry.
