Great players make great coaches.... Many of us have heard that saying in sports.. But it applies in business as well... As your move up the ladder in a job or as a business owner, one of your most important duties becomes HIRING...Talent Attraction.... I look at it in terms of PUSH and PULL... By posting quality content on Linkedin, I am trying to create awareness, a brand, that shares more about our culture, team, and our values... I also post about open positions, and other aspects of the job... If someone reaches out to me as a result of seeing my posts, that is a PULL.. If I cold message someone on Linkedin to tell them about a job, that is a PUSH... I think it's very important to have a combination of both, and just like fishing, you need to have a lot of lines in the water to catch the MOST or BEST fish. Some others aspects of HIRING that I have learned are VERY important: 1. Implement core values in the hiring process -I love behavior based questioning...tell me about a time in your past where you showed COMPASSION -Via the core values, you want to attract the right candidates, and REPEL the wrong candidates 2. Used behavior based questioning --Tell me about a time when a customer yelled at you, and how you handled it.. 3. Sense of Urgency -How quickly are you posting an ad? 1 day...1 month...? -How quickly are following up with the candidate to schedule a phone screen? -How clearly are you communicating the next step? There are tons of opportunities out there for jobs, and oftentimes the candidates have plenty of options, or they're currently employed. You will lose candidates to other companies if you do not move quickly. 4. High Energy, Positivity -It can be draining to perform a ton of phone screens, or interviews, and it often becomes boring -The person your interviewing wants to be excited about the job and the company, and if they see if you are bored, or you're actually buying in to the company mission and the opportunity to talk to them, and this will often repel or attract the candidate 5. Right mix of communicating the opportunity, but NOT selling the job -If you are desperate, a candidate sees that, and is not attracted.. -List the positives of the job, but also tell them exactly what the worst day is like -You don't want to pour a ton of time hiring and training someone, only to see them leave a few months in due to their expectations not matching the reality of the job 6. Stick to your formula -You have a parameters in terms of the right type of experience on the pay scale, current pay, background, and goals in the future -It's easy to rush and stray outside of your "buy box" to candidates who do not fit -It's often 5x more expensive than their salaray to hire the wrong candidate and stick with them for 6-12 months, due to the time and energy invested by employees to hire and train them, and the lack of production...HIRING the wrong person can crush your office for 12 months...

#pleaseshare It has taken me a few days to gather my thoughts for this post, as I can hardly believe that I've followed through with my decision, shared at the start of the academic year, to step down. We are now actually seeking a new Chair for Ethos Academy Trust, and I already have FOMO! Those connected with me on here know how highly I regard the work of the Trust and how proud I am of its impact on our young people, thanks to our amazing staff. That part of the "pitch" is easy. However, explaining why one should be a trustee, or more perplexingly, why take on the role of Chair, is a bit more challenging. Over the years, I've met many prospective Trustees, and I'm always curious about their motivation to volunteer—giving up their time, reading countless papers, and sitting in meetings for hours. Surely, they get enough of that at work, right? Yet, their answer is usually a desire to give back, and I deeply admire this. However, reflecting on my eight years with Ethos Academy Trust, first on the management committee and then as Chair since the Trust's inception, I can honestly say that Ethos Academy Trust has given me far more than I could ever give in return. Maybe it starts with the desire to contribute, but at some point, the tables turn, and you find yourself benefitting immensely from the partnership. Indeed, the time commitment for this role can be considerable, and the responsibility to do it well for our children, young people, and staff is significant. But the rewards far outweigh the effort. I've been fortunate to grow into this role with the support of Jayne Foster. I'll be honest—it's tough, especially when it means so much to everyone involved and you're the one they look to for leadership. Jayne and I have certainly shared both laughter and tears during this journey, but I wouldn’t have wanted to do it with anyone else. Now, as we enter a new phase in the Trust's journey, our top priority is ensuring robust strategic and operational leadership for what promises to be a busy time ahead! So, I ask—could that be you? Could you collaborate with the new CEO to drive the Trust forward, lead the Board, develop strategy, oversee the successful delivery of our up-and-coming growth projects, and continue transforming the lives of the young people within our Trust? If you believe it could be, I promise you will be part of something very special. Please feel free to drop me a message if you would like to discuss the role further. #governance #education #leadership #strategy #AP #SEND #inclusion #nurture #nonexec #kirklees #wakefield #rotherham #leeds #barnsley #sheffield

It's no secret that the life science industry has faced several challenges since the pandemic. Last year, we saw a huge number of companies downsizing and restructuring. At Apsida Life Science, many of our clients are ready to revive previously sideline projects but, like many, are taking a "more calculated" approach to keep costs low and avoid excessive hiring. As a result, our Director of Contracts has had a surge of interest from new and existing clients considering interim hiring as a potential solution. Hiring contractors can be challenging, as it's difficult to monitor every potential contractor's expertise, availability, and expectations which is where our contract specialist can support you. To learn more about the contract hiring market, find out if interim hiring is the best solution for your project or business, or join our network of contractors, read our latest blog below and reach out to our Director of Contracts, Joshua Dada directly. How to Apply to Scopic: A Simple Guide I've been receiving many questions about how to apply to Scopic and the hiring process. While I’m not part of HR and can’t provide every detail, since each job has its own requirements and skill verification steps, the general process is the same for all positions. First, go to the Scopic Careers page: https://lnkd.in/gmhEi4Uu From there, select the position you're interested in, then read the job description carefully. Make sure your skills and experience match what the job requires. After that, fill in the necessary information and submit your application. You'll get a confirmation email once it's submitted. If your application passes the initial review, an HR representative will reach out with more information. Best of luck!
