With the live events now over, we were back on deck with our regular webinar just before the Easter break. Firstly, Michael Shirley from Veris (ASX: VRS) joined us. Michael talked through how they are turning around the business and moving it back into profitability. Over the last two years, Michael and the new team have focused on enhancing and expanding the product offering. Veris has also focused on getting the core surveying and planning business operating effectively and efficiently, following numerous acquisitions in the space over the last few years to build a national footprint. Getting a refresher on the business was good; plenty has changed under the hood. Secondly, we were delighted to welcome back Dennison Hambling from Intelligent Monitoring Group Limited (ASX: IMB). Dennison walked us through the first half post the ADT Security acquisition which has materially changed the revenue and EBITDA of the business and given IMB significant scale. Dennison also highlights that they will actively focus on growing the business by targeting previous ADT clients to win them back or upgrade their existing services. New business will also be a priority across residential, SME, and, in particular, aged care and healthcare over the next 12-24 months as these market sectors remain underrepresented in Australia regarding professional security solutions versus international markets. Corpse Reviver IS HERE!!! Well, the new and very improved product. To say I’ve learned a lot about the beverage industry over the last year would be a huge understatement. All the learnings I had taken from Hooch Booch and tried to apply to the first round of Corpse Reviver failed. It felt like we were trying to drive a round peg into a square hole… which we kind of were. While the worlds of alcohol and non-alc are merging, we aren’t there yet. So back to the drawing board we went. Quite literally. We brought back our original Hooch Booch designer and my dear friend Annemarie Meyers with Fireside at Five. I attended countless beverage conferences (alc & non), immersed myself in research and market data, and I asked a lot of questions.
