We’re so excited to announce our Speed-Friending All-Girl Event! This will be on Friday, May 24th at 6:30PM at @holidayon7th! We only have 18 spots for ladies in the 30-35 age range 👑! (we’ll have more age ranges soon 😉)   It’s not live yet! It’ll be dropping sometime today 👀 (check stories to see if an approximate time is mentioned 🤫)   How do I know when it’s live? ➡️ Comment “event drop” to get notified when the event is ready for sign-up!   How will this event work? 😍   💗 After sign-up, you’ll receive an email confirmation with a short form to answer a few questions about yourself, contact preferences, availability to meet up, hangout preferences, etc.   💗 We’ll have our check-in between 6-6:45PM, where you’ll receive your name tag & a packet that will have a notes section for each attendee with their name, picture, and short bio!

💗You’ll also receive suggested conversation starters/questions (feel free to order a drink at the bar 🍷 + look over the conversation questions or mingle while you wait)   💗 After check-in, we’ll start with a “Human” Bingo to help you meet everyone and to hopefully help you relax and calm a few nerves 😊   💗 Then, we’ll set up our Speed-Friending portion (6 minutes will be timed per date with a short break in the middle of the event to go the restroom, grab another drink, & write down any more notes)   💗 After the speed-friending portion, you’ll fill out your match card to choose which ladies you connected with or would like to talk more & you’ll turn those in and a short survey to ask about your experience!   💗 Once everything is submitted, you’re free to go or you can stay & mingle!   💗 You’ll receive your 1:1 matches within 72 hours via email with their contact information. You’ll receive an email from us 1 week after the event to check in on how things are going.   ⭐Want to know who of your matches matched with each other to hang out as a group? 🤩 You can add to receive your group matches to know which people matched with each other! I recently pitched to host an event for the first time, specifically the Fempire Conference. I was intrigued by the idea of a man organising such a significant event for women. Here are some lessons I've learnt from this experience: 1. Pitching to host an event does not diminish your value as an event host. 2. Don't hesitate to state your price and terms. Pitching should give you the chance to present yourself well to the organisers. 3. Bringing your best effort to the event is essential. Since you pitched for it, aim to perform excellently so they consider you for future events. The event was enlightening, providing me with valuable insights from the panelists and other audience members. Back with another article I edited for Girls Club! This time, we're highlighting some of the game-changing female athletes who have represented the US in international competition. Last night I finally had the chance to attend an AAF Chattanooga event and was feeling so inspired afterwards - perfect for a Women's History Month event! So many laughs, finger snapping & connection. We got to hear from a few female powerhouses in the advertising and creative industry talk deeply about overcoming imposter syndrome, breaking barriers and fighting for their seat at the table. I had a few waves of goosebumps as these incredible women spoke about what it's been like over the course of their careers to get where they are today and the advice they had for us early in our own careers. Here are some key points that resonated with me: - Realize that you deserve a seat at the table the same as anyone else. - Don't psych yourself out of going after what you want. - Foster a culture of inclusivity & raising up other women around you. - Figure out what you really love to do and don't settle. - Imposter Syndrome for women correlates with centuries of being conditioned to think we don't deserve to be in positions of power or ideas to be heard, so we have to work harder on shifting that mindset & the tendency to listen to voices of doubt. Give yourself grace. Creating a space to discuss these topics with transparency and changing the dialogue is incredibly important and those two hours had an impact on me. Looking forward to more of these panel discussions from AAF Chattanooga! 🙌

At the end of women’s history month I made the following statement “Be an accomplice not an ally” I’ve been asked, more than once - okay three times, to clarify this. My metaphor is, an ally gives you cab fare to the protest, an accomplice is zip tied next to you figuring out who to call for bail. Doesn’t really translate into business stuff, well not normal business stuff. Here’s what it looks like in normal business stuff - not being part of a panel that’s not diverse. Not moderating, not being on…no nothing - turning down a speaking engagement and suggesting someone from an under represented group - helping conference planners access under represented people in your network. - pushing for limited drinks at a conference. Not everyone drinks, or feels safe in those environments - Using the privilege you have to enhance or help someone else build their career In the end, it’s really about checking ego and making space for women and other under represented groups a spot at the table. They’ve worked just as hard, in some cases harder, than you have they’ve earned and deserve the spot as much as you do.
